Nothing but blackberries in the nose. Sweet smooth and crisp. Zesty and lively. 7-up effervescence. Syrupy sweet. Last summer I picked it up again near the lake and drank it all weekend. I’ve been drinking it since. I don’t like many fruity wheat beers but this one is the best. It can almost be considered a light beer and goes down like champagne with a touch of real blackberry taste left over. Most of the other fruit beers seem artificial, yet you can tell fresh blackberries were used in the making of this one. I highly recomend this to anyone who has had bad luck with other fruit flavored beers. It will change your mind. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA

Extremely light, almost watery, very refreshing for summer drinking as intended, but not very beery t all. If you’re thinking to have something with a little sweet blackberry taste that is refreshing and reminiscent of beer, it’s good. I happen to like it but I can understand why many people on here don’t seem to because beer wise, it’s...just not very beery, but not bad as a beverage in general if you can look past that... Adjunct and blackberry aroma with a bit of corn thrown in for good measure. A little vomit and a hops in there also. Color is a medium gold. Light blackberry flavor along with some corn flakes, cardboard and a sickly sweetness. Not very good. Finish is dry and chalky. Not one that I would recommend. | 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Oct 21, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with jjpm74, thanks John!) Bottled May 2005. Pouring this beer, I’m awestruck by how perfectly clear the body is. I can look through the beer and read anything on the other side perfectly. Of course, it helps that the color is pale straw. The small, snow white cap fades to a broken film within a few minutes. I’m really hoping there is something redeeming about this beer because it smells like a macro pale lager. And unfortunately, the flavor of this blackberry wheat is very macro-like as well. No real wheat flavor that I can detect, and the blackberry flavor is much more than just a hint. Perhaps a bit of light citrus, and a mild bitterness emerges in the finish. All in all, it’s no exaggeration to say this tastes pretty similar to a generic macro to me. Body is very light and watery, though I guess carbonation levels are good. Just a total waste of time and after taking the requisite few sips, this is a 10-ounce drain pour. waveman352 (178), Walden, New York, USA

Nothing much going on in this beer that is complex. Very fruit filled berry nose. It is like drinking a regular pale lager with some b lueberry flavoring. Could be worse. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 30, 2005 Bottle. Pours like Budweiser, pale straw with almost no head. Decent aroma, mostly of berry (my guess is it’s blackberry). Flavor starts off decent enough, more blackberry and some wheat. As it warms though, oof, not good. It gets funky as the wheat and berries start to duke it out. I guess it’s better when cold, but then again, you can’t really taste it when it’s cold. Cletus (5062), Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 29, 2005 Pours golden yellow with a weak creamy head. Smells of bread, blackberries, and some of the usual suspect present in a weaker lager. Tastes of blackberries with a decent tarte finish.
