COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed to celebrate 100 years of the oldest hiking trail in North America, the Long Trail. This ale features a slightly sweet malt flavor delicately balanced by the use of centennial hops. This bigger beer goes down smooth, please indulge with moderation. Our Imperial Red Ale has the traditional characteristics of a red ale with the addition of an ample amount of hops and a higher grain bill that yields more sugars during the brewing process; resulting in a higher ABV.

Very fruity on the nose. Dark reddish-brown in color with a dense frothy head on pour. Light bitterness, not at all sour, and VERY sweet. Light bodied and pleasant. I think it would make a very good autumn light dessert beer. With substantive food, it’s a bit overpowering. Not an everyday beer, but still good.

Bottle. Pours a deep amber with a small beige head that left spots of lacing. Aroma of caramel, pine, fruit and citrus. Flavor was caramel, citrus, piney hops, fruit and had a touch of toffee.

Bottle from beer run. Pours a pretty nice copper color. A little bit of a yeast and band aid aroma and flavor. Malt backbone is nice though to chill out the yeast and hops a bit. Some toffee and caramel flavors.

Poured from 22 oz. bottle. Hazy, coppery dark red with a 2-finger khaki head and very good lacing. Aroma of earthy piney hops, toasted grain, caramel and citric and spicy hops. Taste of spicy hops, citrus, toasted grain, caramel, sweet sherry and earthy piney hops. A nice balance of sweet toasted malts with spicy and flavorful hops. Medium body and medium/high carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear amber with an ecru head. Malty nose. Resinous pine notes with a dominant malt backbone. Very tasty.

This poured a Ruby red color with a beige head. Aroma was caramel, grass, and citrusy hops. Flavor was toast caramel, bittering hops, and booze. Typical for the style.

2/17/2012. 22 oz. bottle. Pours dark amber/red color with an offwhite head. Malty aromas with caramel and fruit. A bit of alcohol showing through, but never overwhelming. Nice hoppy finish.

Aroma on initial pour was fantastic and the malt had some balance with the hops. By the end of the first 12 ounces the malt was coming on strong. Head was a little disappointing but consistent with other reviews. Bottle pour.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4918) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 2, 2013
Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a medium nut brown color with a medium sized creamy off white head that left good lacing. The aroma was fairly strong fruity and floral hops with an undertone of toasted caramel. The flavor was somewhat bitter and tangy with burnt caramel, wood, rough fruity hops and a bit of pine underneath. Long burnt caramel and rough fruity hop finish. Medium body. Ok.

This is a great beer. It has a prominent malt backbone with hints of Carmel and chocolate. There is a nice American hop aroma. The head was a little disappointing since it disappeared quickly. The malt is more prominent than the bitterness, but it has a pleasant bitterness and good balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
