4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Coffee forward malty goodness dark and dank, musty notes. Great tan head, tasty too! You can detect the hops in the back-end. I don't detect solvent alcohol and that's good. It's easy drinking and a terrific swallow! I would prefer a lasting lingering coffee on my palate aftertaste. But it does not. Call it a cheap date...I do like it.

Smells just like coffee. Taste is strong of coffee, roasted malt.. with just a hint of "off flavor" that I seem to recollect from previous Long Trail offerings. Great one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deliciousness & kind of an inbetweener of imperial & traditional stout. Starts w/ an amazing opaque pour w/ a thick mocha head that leaves pretty lacing. The aroma is full of coffee & chocolate notes. The taste is coffee throughout but just slightly bitter. The body is a tad thin which makes this quite drinkable but nonimperial. Neverheless, this goes down easy on this hot day & I would highly recommend it!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Market Grille: Pours dark brown / black with a thick brown head. Leaves solid lacing on the glass. Aroma is very strong coffee, with a hint of smoke. Taste is very coffee dominant, a little chocolate, and a slightly coffee bitter finish. Full body, smooth finish, average carbonation, fairly sticky. This is a really nice beer, by far the best Long Trail stout that Iíve had.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a bottle into a Spiegelau tulip.
A: Coffee, cocoa and a slight earthiness in the general aroma, plus some vanilla sweetness hints underneath the roasted malt, with more vanilla, coffee and chocolate notes.
A: Pours an opaque pitch black color with one-finger thick, fluffy dark brown head that faded quickly.
T: Very stong roasted notes initially, fading to coffee and bread flavors and the alcohol well hidden.
P: Medium body that tends to be slightly thin; light to mild carbonation; creamy and smooth texture.
O: An excellent coffee stout and certainly worth a try, or two, or three.... Lacks the mouth-feel, IMO to make it WORLD CLASS but certainly drinkable!
