22 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip. Poured a golden amber with a smallish head. Lacing is thin but lasting. Carbonation is obvious. Not a strong set of things on the nose - some citrus (orange and grapefuit), pine and malty sweet aroma. I had this probably too cold initially and it improved substantially (no shock) as it warmed. Starts with some bitter hop taste with grapefruit and a honey malt backbone. Sticky and moderate in mouthfeel and dryness, this is pretty balanced. Some bitter in the finish but the sweetness holds throughout. While people seeking out a heavy hop explosion may not be thrilled with this, at the price and a reasonable ABV, I will seek this out again. Good tasting brew.

Bomber pour into a tulip glass. Color looks like an apricot -- quite striking. Aroma is fairly typical for an IPA, more on the grapefruit side of hops than pine. In the mouth itís fuller with more body than I expected, and initially thereís almost a sense of cream. I canít recapture that feeling on subsequent tastes, and the hops shine through with grapefruit and astringency. Thereís a bit of the roundness in the finish, and a hint of sweetness. Iíve gotten a bit burned out on super hoppy IPAs, but this strikes a nice balance between the hops and other beer flavors.

kwerikson (178) - burlington, New Jersey, USA - NOV 2, 2009
pours out cloudy golden oarnge with a nice thick frothy head that is white and produces nice lacing. the body is a cloudy golden sunset color with few bubbles rising from the bottom. the aromas are a spicy hoppy kick with strong pine and apple hit that almost smells like diluted pine sol. the taste is really spicy but balanced out really well with the malt and it leaves a nice yet strong bitter aftertaste that does not kill your tatstebuds when it finishes. it has good palatibilty for this style and is medium bodided and has nice carbonation that leaves a really nice mouth feel. really good beer for the price, probally worth more.

Aroma is of floral, grass, and some fruit. Pours a light amber with lingering lacing. Taste is like flowers and hops. A dry hop finish on the palate. A very well balanced and refreshing beer.

I gotta say. this isnít the best IPA Iíve ever had, but itís pretty damn solid. For an IIPA it should have more body to the taste, however, given the price of this beer it is totally worth it, great value, and not that bad of a beer at all. go for it, Itís a great buy if you need to pack a few bombers to pre game

POURS AND LOOKS LIKE A RUN OF THE MILL GOLDEN BEER. AROMA IS OF SPICY/SWEET FLORAL HOPS. NICE BITTER HOPS FLAVOR MIGHT BE A LITTLE LIGHT TO THE SEASONED BEER DRINKER . STILL QUITE REFRESHING. GOOD AS MOST DOUBLE IPAíS ARE, YET NOT STANDING OUT IN THE CROWD.

22 oz bottle. Pous a hazy orange with a nice, white head, lots of lacing. Nose is bitter, piny hoppy, a nice yeasty stink, dried fruit. Medium-full body, soft, not too much carbonation, but surprisingly light feeling on the finish. Taste is heavy towards the hop side with the malts not really coming through til a bit of a sticky aftertase, but it is balanced by the fruitness- grapefruit, maybe orange. The hops are piny and earthy, bitter and delicious. Finish is a little crisp and very bitter. Quite enjoyable and reasonably priced. Is this unfiltered because I hated their other unfiltered IPA?

Pours surprisingly light straw color with a weak head. Not a very strong aroma of anything. Flavor of hops is there but very light. I expected much more for a "double" IPA. Its very drinkable and refreshing but I expected more. Iíll take a SIerra Nevada any day over this.

Great flavor, color and aroma. On the sweeter end for an imperial IPA for me. More of a double than imperial.
