Srong tastes of chocolate and coffee. Surprisingly medium body for such a strong tasting beer. Great aroma too. Little bit of a burn in the finish. Overall a very good beer.

These brewmaster beers are surprisingly good. Aroma is roast, chocolate, lactose. Reminds me of a nice milk stout. Taste is more of the same with a nice roastyness and well hid alcohol.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BeerViking (1430) - Lüneburg, Lower Saxony, GERMANY - FEB 28, 2012
Very dark brown with a coffee-coloured crema and aromas of demerara, a little liquorice and leather, a hint of fruit cake, just the faintest note of milk chocolate. Then a big rich body, with roast coffee, a little burnt dark fruit and a touch of treacle, some creaminess and liquorice coming through, followed by a bitter-burnt treacle finish.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 Ernesto987 (2378) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 27, 2012
Rich and miky but with a great roasty dryness that really balances out. This is another very impressive Vermont beer

22oz, 2011 Vintage bottle at room temperature. A chocolate roast aroma upon opening, pours a black colored body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, brown head. The head slowly dissipates, but maintains a presence throughout. Decent lacing. Aroma is not overpowered by hops, mainly a malty caramel/chocolate aroma. The roasty aroma that was noticed upon opening disappeared once poured in the pint glass, but was very evident in the flavor as the beer rests on the tongue and throughout the finish. Silky mouthfeel. It finishes dry with a pleasant bitterness from the hops, but does not overpower the taste. The smoky coffee/molasses aftertaste lasts for minutes.

powerful aromas of dark chocolate, malts, and ground coffee. Very good depth as well
full bodied with lots of malts and coffee. Very good depth and the feel is very good
A quality imperial porter. While it isn’t the most complex, it does what it does very well
