Opaque brown with and average frothy tan head (3+). Interesting aroma - waves of green herbal hops balanced against bitter chocolate/coffee roast - not sweet at all. Taste - follows, more chocolate, much better balance, some alcohol, quite dry and bitter in the finish. Slick, light bodied, a tad flat, but a nice slick hoppy/roasty linger - well done. garthicus (1356), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Appearance: Pretty black with a creamy thick tan head. Aroma: Hoppy with a lot of cream, lots of milk chocolate, spice and mocha. Very nice. Flavour: Bitter mocha i.e a good mix of chocolate and coffee, alcohol is evident but certainly not overpowering, good amount of hops too, what an interesting brew. Long bitter hop finish with notes of chocolate too. Very enjoyable. Kuzo (51), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2010 Pours dark brown/black with a huge lingering frothy tan head. Roasted and chocolate malts beautifully dominate the nose with a pine undertone. The taste is similar to the aroma with the addition of espresso, dark fruit, tobacco. The hops are a little more pronounced. Medium-full bodied, smooth, and moderate carbonation. A very enjoyable sipper. kevd193213 (519), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Bomber. Poured rather clear, deep brown with a well-retained cap of beige head. The aroma picked up toasty semi-sweet chocolate, coffee, and lesser molasses with sour metallic and coffee undertones.. baker’s chocolate on the final impression.. just OK. The flavor found more well-roasted (almost charred) coffee and molasses than anything else.. green coffee bitterness and sourness surrounded.. lots of char, more sourness, and residual sugars on the finish. Medium-bodied and grainy on the palate with some off-putting sourness.. not bad, but it didn’t fully come together.
