Bomber marked 062813, their redesignated Barrel and Brush series, and I do like the label-front painting. Nose is pumpkin with pie spices: nutmeg, cloves, light allspice, faint ginger. Pours opaque/cloudy orange-brown but ruby under light with clingy and dense tan head. Taste is sweet and overly spiced, but softly malty as if a generous dose of wheat had been added, bitterness rising toward the muddled yeasty-malty end, but it’s more spice-related bitterness than hop-derived. Speaking of which, the attachment to the bottle notes Nugget, Mt. Hood, and Willamette this year, they’re low on the totem pole but bring deft but bright citrus and very soft pine, with nice complementary earthiness (the pumpkin is there but well below the cloves and it’s even under the cinnamon!) and just enough oily bite to make them worth the search. Murky-slimy but smooth medium body, alcohol very well hidden. Not my favorite pumpkin beer, not even my favorite big/double pumpkin, but as with many things this time of year, I’m just so in love with the change in season... .

Poured from big bottle. Aroma of pumpkin and brown sugar. Thick, cloudy orange amber with a bit of head. I taste pumpkin pepper, banana, cinnamon, brown sugar, grass and alcohol. Definitely not as sweet as other pumpkin ales. Spices and hops give this a crisp, somewhat dry feel - kinda refreshing. Gets better as it warms. Well done.

22oz. bottle picked up at Astoria Bier & Cheese in Queens. Limited run "Brush and Barrel" bottle that features a piece of local Vermont art on it. Very nice packaging. I believe that this is the same as the standard Imperial Pumpkin, however (someone please PM me if I am incorrect). Opaque, orangey-brown hue reminiscent of a dried apricot. Attractive, roughly 1 cm orangey head that mostly dissipated after a few seconds. Aroma was the most underwhelming part of the beer - generally inoffensive but nothing special, faint fruit aroma and less spice than I was expecting. Very nice sweet, caramel and spice flavor that tastes lower in ABV than the advertised 8%.

Bottle pours dark red has ok head. Tastes smells heavy spice cinnamon nutmeg caramel bitter. Not really a fan more a spice beer I can see where it’s a pumpkin beer but more like a candle smell and taste what you’d expect pass. Stick with the best pumking

This imperial pumpkin is a middle of the road as far as taste. Finishes a lil sour and doesnt taste very much like pumkin ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled June 28, 2013.
Appearance: The body is hazy with a garnet to mahogany hue with a towering tan head that has great retention, settling into a full coating.
Aroma: Cinnamon and graham cracker are prominent with hints of vanilla, clove and ginger. The aroma leans sweet and enticing.
Taste: Sweet caramel is throughout, from start to finish with pumpkin pie flavors. The spices are really subdued, cinnamon and ginger is most notable with cloves lingering on the finish. This is a nice pumpkin beer.
Palate: Soft creamy body.
Overall: This is actually really solid. I love the sweetness that’s balanced nicely by the spices. As far as pumpkin beer is concerned, this is a good one.

22 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured kind of hazy dark reddish amber in color; decent off white head and nice lacing on the cup. Aroma of spices malts and booze with hints of pumpkin. Taste is malty sweet combined with some spices and pumpkin, you also feel the alcohol but it is actually smooth and drinkable. Nice Enjoyable beer.

From a bottle. Pours hazy medium reddish brown with a thin fizzy head. Tastes like pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg, slightly sour. Not too spiced and not very sweet. Low/medium body and carbonation. Smells like squash vegetables, spices, and alcohol.

Bottle. Pours hazy, dark amber with creamy, off-white head. Aroma is pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, cereal malts, floral notes, figs, and dates. Flavor starts sweet and malty but surprisingly has some strong hop bitterness on the back end; dry finish with some light spices. Medium body and carbonation.
