3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared with Sr. Jackson in Canaan, NH. Pours bright copper-red with a fine, white cream head. Sugars and autumn spices in the aroma, definite sweet pumpkin notes. Big sweet flavor with pleasant pumpkin, nutmeg, wintery spices now, a bit of alcohol. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly warming, with cinnamon and nutmeg, mild dryness. Nicely spiced overall. I like sweet pumpkin beers, generally, and I think this one is good stuff.

22oz bomber. Pours a deep orange color with an inch of foamy tan head. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, and all spice. Taste has lots of spice upfront, pumpkin background, finishing with a light malty sweetness.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was a lovely mix of sweet malts, strong nutmeg and clove, faint cinnamon and sourdough bread. The flavor was sweetish and bready with moderate nutmeg and clove and light cinnamon. Long finish of bread and nutmeg. Medium body. Nice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
THOUGHTS: Rather nice. Very nice for the price, too. Very smooth and easy to drink. Definitely a ramped up version of their regular pumpkin ale. Hid alcohol nicely. Not the best pumpkin beer, but a nice beer in general. It did get a little sweet toward the end and slightly cloying. Not just a pumpkin beer — it’s a real beer, too.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a kind of murky, dark, orangey red that was just about brown in the glass with nice carbonation and an average to large, creamy, off-white head that mostly diminished, but left excellent lacing. The aroma contained moderate grain and cereal; light caramel; hints of cocoa; light citrus hops; slight pine hops; brown sugar, pumpkin and pumpkin pie spices. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and lighty acidic; while the finish was moderately sweet, lightly acidic and lightly bitter. There was caramel, grain, brown sugar, pumpkin, cereal, citrus hops, light pumpkin pie spices, hints of cocoa, more spices as it warmed, and some milk chocolate. The medium to full body was fairly creamy with tingly carbonation and a slightly alcoholic finish.

My bottle [660ml] shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel. Pours a dark orange-copper with an average size long-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of spices, pumpkin, lactic notes, caramel malt, some alcohol and it’s just a touch vegetal. Flavour of pumpkin, spices, cream and a slightly harsh boozy finish. Medium bodied. Not one of the best of the style but quite good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bottle: pours a clear deep orange bronze with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet caramel and ginger nose with some cinnamon notes and a touch of pumpkin flesh. Starts with pretty good fullness and a chewy toasted caramel sweetness with a touch of grainy notes and English hops before some cinnamon and clove spice atop a mild pumpkin flavor give way to a drier finish. Not quite as clean or as flavorful as I had hoped. More pumpkin and less spice would be preferable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2013-01-13. Hazy dark orange with a nice beige head. 3+ Aroma is spicy, fruity, and lightly tangy. Flavour is similar, moderate spices up front, fruity pumpkin, very light alcohol, modest bitterness. Smooth average pls to medium bodied palate. 3++ Pretty decent, I’d personally like the malt to be a touch more robust to support the pumpkin and spice more, but it is nice as is. 3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz. bottle: This one pours a clear, orangish-amber color. There was almost no head on it, and no lacing. The aroma is decent, and expected. Pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg are the dominant ones. Not overdone, but they mask anything else. The taste is pretty good. Nicely balanced between the hops and malts. A touch of pumpkin, the pumpkin pie spices, and a hint of bitterness. A nice fall beer!
