Poured from big bottle. Aroma of pumpkin and brown sugar. Thick, cloudy orange amber with a bit of head. I taste pumpkin pepper, banana, cinnamon, brown sugar, grass and alcohol. Definitely not as sweet as other pumpkin ales. Spices and hops give this a crisp, somewhat dry feel - kinda refreshing. Gets better as it warms. Well done.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured this beer from a large bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a rusty copper/dark-amber color with a good bit of sediment at the bottom, and an average-sized, tan head that had good lacing, but average retention and cling. The aroma featured a big blend of spices, including brown sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon, along with notes of pumpkin, caramel, and cloves to go with a light pine hops effect. It had a good, sweet taste with a somewhat bitter spice, paired with tones of pumpkin, nutmeg, and candy, and also had a slight sour effect. It had a thick mouthfeel, but gave way to a thinner finish which was a bit harsh; the beer had good life and carbonation and was quite dry.

Long Trail Imperial Pumpkin is a murky copper ale that’s topped with a generous and long lasting, creamy yellow foam of a head. There are lots of spices in the nose: coriander, nutmeg, etc. It’s smooth and full bodied. The finish is chewy and a bit dry. It’s quite sweet. It tastes boozy-- boozier than it is. I taste possible fusel and lots of spices. There’s a long, lingering juniper bitterness. I’m known to enjoy crazy pumpkin ales with great delight. This one is just kind of... rude.

Smell is like a pumpkin beer, so is taste. High malt complexion. Creamy and good but it disappears too quickly.

22 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured kind of hazy dark reddish amber in color; decent off white head and nice lacing on the cup. Aroma of spices malts and booze with hints of pumpkin. Taste is malty sweet combined with some spices and pumpkin, you also feel the alcohol but it is actually smooth and drinkable. Nice Enjoyable beer.

Clear and orange in color with minimal head. Pumpkin, cinnamon, alcohol fumes. Lots of spice and obvious alcohol flavor. Good but not the best pumpkin I’ve had.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle). The aroma is abundantly spiced with note of alcohol. The flavor is overwhelmed by the spices instead of pumpkin. The alcohol is warming and nice for a cool fall day. The Long Trail Brewmaster series has been very impressive but this one falls a little short.

so i am not sure if the brush and barrel series is same as brewmaster but here i go. 22oz bomber enjoyed in a standard pint glass. A darker colored brownish orange with a nice one finger small bubble head. Aroma is a best hits or pumpkin beer with clove and all spice but not ever the top. The taste is a full body malt with light touches of bitter and brown sugar. For me the greatness comes in the full satisfying body that more pumpkin beers should have. Pumpkin beer to be enjoyed on a cold VT evening. 8abv not noticeable. a good all around example.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
1 pint 6 fl oz bottle. Pours a surprising clear ruby hue with a tan/orange coloured head. Aroma is spice up front, and a surprising amount of banana. I mean a LOT of banana. As for taste, sweet with heavy notes of Lyle’s Golden Syrup up front, dried fruit, caramel, light cinnamon, light bitterness, and lots of malt notes. If tasting blindly, I might guess something in the bock family. The pumpkin beer notes are awfully light. It is however a good beer, even if it doesn’t resemble something from the pumpkin beer family. Well done.
