Bottle:   Deep dark dirty caramel, frothy beige head, nice lacing.   Strong nutmeg and cimmamon on the nose.   Spicy up front, very bready.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Cloves seem to creep up on the backside, they linger long.   Not as big as I expected, but a bit more UMPH than your standard Pumpkin Ale.

2013-02-22 - tasting hosted by blankboy, with gregclow, jercraigs and mabel - bomber c/o blankboy. Pinkish copper pour with a smallish but lasting rocky slightly cream tan head. Vegetal (but the vegetable is pumpkin, so that’s okay) and candy necklace sweet aroma, a little pumpkin pie spice - even a little hint of jalepeno, which really detracted from the overall; a bit boozy. Spicy, some alcohol, pumpkin malt, not as sweet or vegetal as the aroma - not bad, not a great one though. Average body, a little astringency from the spicing, low level carbonation, finishes quick and dry with a somewhat gritty/earthy aftertaste ... not badly made, but a little all over the place for me.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange with small off white head. The aroma is cinnamon, spice, ginger and nutmeg. Medium mouthfeel with nice cinnamon and ginger flavor with light spice in the finish. Very good.

4oz sample at Max’s Hop Fest 2013. Pours a hazy mahogany brown with some very white head. Smells like a candle, brown sugar, candied yams, burnt marshmellow. Flavor is like eating candied yams on Thanksgiving, burnt marshmellow, clove, super sweet, nutmeg, vanilla. Very sugary finish. A little too much.

Draft at Rustico Alexandria. Poured a clear amber color with a pretty decently sized white head. Aroma was a nice mix of pumpkin and pumpkin-pie spices. Some earthy hops with a nice malt backing round it out. Flavor was a bit like a pumpkin pie, with fresh tasting pumpkin with nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon. Pretty tasty, and quite drinkable for the abv on this one.

Bottle. Dark orange-amber pour with a medium, frothy tan head. Aroma is cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, pumpkin pie and roasted pumpkin. Hints of brown sugar as well. Taste is cinnamon and nutmeg up front with strong pumpkin pie notes, brown sugar, clove, other spices and burnt pie crust. Body is medium with a soft, creamy carbonation. Finishes with more strong spice up front (mainly cinnamon and clove), pumpkin pie, candied pumpkin and brown sugar.

Bomber. My bottle is very different from the one pictured. This is kind of red hued and has a nice beige head. A pumpkin aroma. A powdery feel. Flavor is pumpkin and big malts. Plenty of spices including nutmeg and cinnamon. Some earth. No hops detected. Something kind of harsh remained throughout and was a negative. It reminded me of burnt brown sugar.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was a lovely mix of sweet malts, strong nutmeg and clove, faint cinnamon and sourdough bread. The flavor was sweetish and bready with moderate nutmeg and clove and light cinnamon. Long finish of bread and nutmeg. Medium body. Nice.

650 ml. bottle. Gorgeous label. Obtained in a trade with AdamJackson. Thanks! Dark amber, small tanned head. Sweet familiar pumpkin nose, sweet with solid vegetable touch, light metal, spices are in the back largely, tad copper malt, quite a bit of cloves. Faintly bitter cloves taste, touch vegetable pumpkin, light pennies, dough & spices are light in the back, quite a bit of bitter malt, light burned sugar, faint cough syrup,… Faintly metallic & tad burned sugar body. This is decent but I feel like it could have been so much more & I have had better in the style. This one is only for fans of the style I think.

Bottle. Pours a clear orangish amber body with a one finger tight bubbled beige head that had pretty nice retention. The nose is pretty solid, lots of sweet caramel maltiness with a lighter spice accent. Smells like ginger mostly, with some lighter cinnamon and nutmeg. Minimal squash notes. The flavor is way too spicy for my tastes though. The ginger and nutmeg are just a little too overboard and dominate over the pumpkin and sweet caramel malt. Spicy biting finish from the ginger and clove. Some very minimal alcohol heat on the finish, but pretty tame for 8% ABV. Medium bodied with fizzy frothy carbonation. I was hoping for better from this one. Their other brewmaster series beers have been very good.
