COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Long Trail Imperial Pumpkin Ale is the latest introduction to the Long Trail Brewmaster Series. This limited release seasonal treat is small batch brewed with pumpkins, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves with increased malts and a touch of bitterness for the perfect balance.

Long Trail Imperial Pumpkin is a murky copper ale thatís topped with a generous and long lasting, creamy yellow foam of a head. There are lots of spices in the nose: coriander, nutmeg, etc. Itís smooth and full bodied. The finish is chewy and a bit dry. Itís quite sweet. It tastes boozy-- boozier than it is. I taste possible fusel and lots of spices. Thereís a long, lingering juniper bitterness. Iím known to enjoy crazy pumpkin ales with great delight. This one is just kind of... rude.

Poured this beer from a large bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a rusty copper/dark-amber color with a good bit of sediment at the bottom, and an average-sized, tan head that had good lacing, but average retention and cling. The aroma featured a big blend of spices, including brown sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon, along with notes of pumpkin, caramel, and cloves to go with a light pine hops effect. It had a good, sweet taste with a somewhat bitter spice, paired with tones of pumpkin, nutmeg, and candy, and also had a slight sour effect. It had a thick mouthfeel, but gave way to a thinner finish which was a bit harsh; the beer had good life and carbonation and was quite dry.

Poured from big bottle. Aroma of pumpkin and brown sugar. Thick, cloudy orange amber with a bit of head. I taste pumpkin pepper, banana, cinnamon, brown sugar, grass and alcohol. Definitely not as sweet as other pumpkin ales. Spices and hops give this a crisp, somewhat dry feel - kinda refreshing. Gets better as it warms. Well done.

Bottle at home. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, blah, blah, blah, blah. Another standard pumpkin ale, just with a bit of hot alcohol on the finish. Not bad, but also nothing to set it apart from the other 20 pumpkin ales on the shelf right now.

Poured from a bottle clear golden aroma of spices and tastes like a bitter pumpkin pie with cinnamon overtones

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2012 Pours golden. The lacing sticks around but does ever so sink. Smells and tastes of rye bread, nutmeg, allspice and bread yeast. Alright.

Clear and orange in color with minimal head. Pumpkin, cinnamon, alcohol fumes. Lots of spice and obvious alcohol flavor. Good but not the best pumpkin Iíve had.

(Bottle). The aroma is abundantly spiced with note of alcohol. The flavor is overwhelmed by the spices instead of pumpkin. The alcohol is warming and nice for a cool fall day. The Long Trail Brewmaster series has been very impressive but this one falls a little short. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle from The Perfect Pour. Happy Long Trail distributed this far south. Pours dark amber with white head. Malt aroma with cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Caramel malt flavor with pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove flavors. Then some peppery notes in the finish with hops and some bitterness.
