22oz bomber from Spirits Brick. Poured a good looking medium to thicker bodied mostly black body with a smaller thick foamy deep beige head. Aroma is nice, burnt marshmallow and vanilla, light chocolate, wet burnt toast, some dark fruit skins and light spice. Medium to slightly fuller bodied with slightly stronger carbonation, leaves a full mouthfeel with no hint of the high ABV, very smooth and drinkable. Flavor of dark malts, chocolate malted milk balls, toast, some darker berry and fruit skins, vanilla beans, hint of coffee and tea, touch of woodiness, some brownie batter. This is pretty darn good and damn 9.3% is scarily well hidden.

22oz bottle picked up at Whole Foods in DC. Dark brown pour with a slight tan head and a bit of lacing. Nose is roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. This is a massive porter - strong but deceptive. Flavorful but balanced. Quite nice.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. The pour is dark brown to near black with am long lasting delicate tan head. Opaque with good lacing. Aroma of cooked chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, and dark malts with hops de-emphasized. The body is medium and creamy. The taste is dreamy. A good dose of chocolate malts, coffee, and licorice up front with the slightest dry hop presence at the end. Alcohol is very well integrated. 9.3%? You’d never know it.

On draft, rich and creamy. Really robust and a little boozy. I have always liked the long trail series beers
