12oz - Good, solid ale, meets the description of the style. With the malty back it’s a good Fall selection.

355 ml bottle purchased at the brewery, on July 27, 2011. Light amber, thin head. Aroma of malted barley sweetness, notes of spicy nuts. Raw malted barley taste, bitter nutty notes, aftertaste of alcohol. A simple but nice Alt!

Draft at Afterword. Dark amber color, small tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of bitter caramel, if that makes any sense. Taste is full on malt but with enough balance to have a more bitter finish than most altbieren.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake, VA (bottled April 7, 2011). Pours brownish-orange with a thin off-white head. Sweet malty aroma of caramel and toffee with light citrus hops in the background. The flavor is muted orange zest and tangerines with a healthy amount of malt sweetness. The alcohol is very well hidden and honestly a bit surprising. While there is nothing particularly off-putting about this beer there is nothing really that wows me.

Pours amber with medium white head. Mild aroma with some cereal and pine. Taste is sweet with a little caramel and then finishes with some hop bitterness and alcohol dryness. Very good beer.

Boliv (1045) - New York, USA - AUG 3, 2011
Bottle. Pours dark red with a small-ish white head. Aromas of sweet malt, fruits, and some old leather. The flavor is equally sweet, with fruity and malty notes dominating and leading into a lightly bitter grassy finish. This is pretty sweet, with the alcohol evident. It’s alright. [767]
