4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From bottle on numerous occasions over the past several years. A strong Alt, like a Schumacher Latzenbier (but in a smaller bottle, and easier for me to obtain!). Viscous; body is quite full. Creamy medium-beaded head. Aroma of noble-type hops and malt, with a bit of pleasant fruitiness. Smooth but assertive bitterness with good malt support and resiny hop flavor. Bitterness lingers in finish.

Pours nicely - transparent copper w/ a lasting tan head & lovely lacing. The aroma is predominantly malfy & a tad sweet. The taste is quite malfy w/ a bit of a bitter kick in the finish. The body is very light & pleasant on the palate. Overall this is a solid beer!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not quite on point for style. Lacks the interesting malt crispness and profile. Instead the malt comes off on the sweet side here lots of caramel and sugar. Pours brown with OK head and lacing. Bottle.
