A solid brown ale, not like Belle's Best, but actually pretty comparable. A solid brew on a cold fall day ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

DATE TASTED: September 2, 2014... GLASSWARE: Brew at the Zoo pint...OCCASION: O’s bust open a 10-3 lead in Game One of the ALDS... APPEARANCE: intimidatingly dark mahogany body; swiftly descending off-white head; flat, inconsistent up top... AROMA: thick, intense, sweet syrupy punch that encompasses a beautifully smoky embrace; hickory also mates with flattened hops to approximate a brown ale/porter mash-up ... PALATE: weighty, rather flat cola mouthfeel; teeth must withstand some energy, but the warmth sits idly on the tongue--heavy.....TASTE: sweet and malty with the syrup and smoke mitigating a rather uneventful flavor; a bit of biscuit late, but not what the aroma promises... OVERALL: Autumnal, yes--but the allure of its scent doesn’t measure up when sipped; lo alcohol content makes it sessionable....

Bottle. Pours a clear light brown body under a small fizzy beige head that faded to a thin film. The nose is nutty and lightly sweet with a touch of chocolate and burnt caramel. It tastes rather sweet up front, lots of caramel and toffee notes, which fade to a hazelnut like sweetness on the finish. Light bodied with minimal cling and soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty ho-hum even for the style.

Bottle. Pours clear brown with fizzy beige head. Aroma is toasted and light caramel malts, light mixed nuts, faint chocolate, and faint earthy notes. Flavor matches the nose with a toasted malt profile and light earthy hop bitterness; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle from Wegmans Collegeville. Pours typical brown with a medium sized tan head that has average retention. The aroma has roasted malt, a slight bit of cocoa, and a tiny bit of coffee bean in the distance. The taste has a milk chocolate / roasted malt character. This is not complex but it is easy to drink and decent.
