COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here is our "Wheat Beer with Yeast." Beers brewed with a high proportion of wheat yield a crisp and refreshing flavor profile, while the addition of our special yeast adds a blend of complex citrus and spice flavors...forget the lemon wedge, this Hef' has plenty of flavor!

What a disappointment. I really dug Long Trail’s Craft Brewers IPA and this beer seemed entirely fake to me. It tasted like Halloween, all dressed up like banana candy. Too bad. What it probably comes down to is an unwillingness to spend the $$ to make it the right way. Long Trail could do a lot for VT brewing by investing in an ACTUAL craft beer. Spend the cash and get the reward. But stil am hopeful for the next effort.

ClarkVV (3578) - Allston, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 22, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2006 2006 bottle on 5/21/06.
Fairly rapidly receding white head atop an unfiltered light golden-straw body. Light lacing at the the top, but it is not thorough.
Heavily estery nose shows pure, fresh, clean banana and tons of playful bubble gum. Mild citrus and some dashes of light peppery-dry notes. Creamed wheat takes over and the bubble gum just basks in the dryness as the moderate honey graininess stays strong throughout. Fairly high strength.
A bit more watery than the nose suggests, unfortunately, but nothing unclean. The strong wheat is there, smoothing things out, but unfortunately, the water is fairly prevalent, which really leads to the downfall of this otherwise well-malted and interestingly estery example. Plenty of supple pils malt and sweet wheat lead to a malty example, but the esters and light phenols dry it out and balance it on the end. Banana lingers on lightly with the creamed wheat. No alcohol noted.

12oz bottle. Pours a bright yellow color with a frothy bright white head. Nose is very much bananas with some light pepper and lemon. Palate is thin and watery, but has a silky smoothness. Flavor is banana with some light laffy taffy notes, bits of pepper and lemon, but banana is the main attraction here.

muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - MAY 10, 2006
12 oz bottle purchased May 2006 at City Market in Burlington VT, served a bit above fridge temperature in a Weihenstephan glass. Murky, translucent dark gold with a typical huge, rocky off-white head that leaves a bit of lace as it dries off quickly....aroma is all Nestles Banana Quick, very very sweet, powdery and somewhat artificial, some hints of caramel, clove and cinnamon if you work for them.....simple, initially quite sweet fruity flavor profile, low carbonation helps make for a rather syrupy mouthfeel....as it warms it becomes increasingly doughy and imbued with sour apples, metallic character and bitter greens....very dull, sweet-sour cidery/lemony finish, rather soda-like. Another misfire from this tired brewery....
