I like this beer. It’s just bitter and just sweet enough.

Not a favorite. Color is good, aroma is quite sweet, minimal bitterness. Sweetness lingers a bit long

This one isn’t that bad of a beer. Rough and uneven, like every other long trail beer, but with a little more malts to balance some of the overwhelming hops they seem to dump into every style. I’m definitely not a fan of beers with honey.

Clear amber color, minimal head. Aroma is malty sweet, slight nuttyness. Flavor is initally malty sweetness, with the brown sugar and honey making up the aftertaste. Minimal (if any) hop presence.

Malty, earthy nose. Clean off white head. Amber honey hue. Bready sweet malts. Medium bodied, pleasant sweetness, lightly hopped bitter finish.

Much better than I was anticipating. The sweetness of the brown sugar and honey doesn’t really hit until the aftertaste, and then it is not too overpowering. Maltiness is pretty good, but nothing special. If anything, this is a beer that you can choose when you just want something different.

Thin and sweet...Similar to a scottish ale…Touches of honey and complacent malt…

A nice and -- pardon the pun -- sleepy winter seasonal. It’s pretty unassuming and a good beer to have on hand during the winter. It’s fairly welcoming, not too sweet, and with just enough bitter in the finish for it to be interesting. It isn’t a knock-your-socks-off beer, but it works for those occasions when your primary focus isn’t the beer in your hand.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2003 Bottled (22 oz), 2001. This winter brew from one of VT's 'middle-range' micros starts out reasonably promising, with a lovely dark amber/reddish color (though very weak head) and a nice slightly spicy, honeyed nose. The flavor starts out ok, the body is rather full, but it quickly becomes apparent that there's not much going on besides the honey sweetness and some ok maltiness; at the end the brew really falls down, with a pronounced sour-milk thing going on for a really terrible finish. Not recommended.
12 oz, Spring 2003. I just realized that LT have 2 honey-flavored beers, out of 11. Tells you something right there. Most of what I said before holds, except this one didn't seem precisely "offensive" at the end, but still thin and watery and boring.
