Deep amber color with a short lived off white head. Nose with some peat and lots of sweet brown sugar. Sweet beer with lots of iced tea, white sugar, and some roasted grains. Not my favorite style and not an interesting one of those.

$1.60 from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours a coppery amber with an inch and a half of frothy off-white head. Smells of toffee, sweet alcohol. Flavor is hard to pin-point. Toffee? It’s OK.

Pours a deep amber, cloudy and hazy. A tall fluffy white head sits on top. Average carbonation. Simple aromatics here. Caramel malts slighty toasted. Thats about it as i can tell. Taste is malt forward slightly toasted some hops in the pine resin catagory. Back to the malts there seems to be a faint toffee aspectI’m picking up here. Medium mouthfeel here. Long Trail in my opinion makes good beers. Thier like a second tier brewery and they try hard but this is just an average scotch ale, pale ale, amber ale, whatever. I like this beer perhaps out of a tap in Vermont it would be better but today it’s just average.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Thanks DSG. Clear, dark golden. Honey, caramel, malt aroma, mediocre bitterness, malty taste. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Not great.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Clear amber. Sweet malty fruity aroma, a bit spicy. Sweetish flavor of malt, fruits and a drier spicy finish. Medium-bodied.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with thin, fizzy off-white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is heavy caramel and toasted malts, figs, grassy hops, honey, and spice. Flavor is malt forward, medium hops, and light fruit esters; dry finish. Light body and warmth with medium carbonation.

poured from bottle into a pint glass. Pours a medium orange color with a nice foamy head. The aromas are a bit muted with some aromas of malts, toffee, and caramel with a touch of hops. Not all that deep either sadly medium bodied with a smooth feel and flavors of caramel and malts A good scotch ale and very drinkable. It would be better if there was more depth to it, but it’s enjoyable regardless
