Pours a deep amber, cloudy and hazy. A tall fluffy white head sits on top. Average carbonation.
Simple aromatics here. Caramel malts slighty toasted. Thats about it as i can tell.
Taste is malt forward slightly toasted some hops in the pine resin catagory. Back to the malts there seems to be a faint toffee aspectI’m picking up here.
Medium mouthfeel here.
Long Trail in my opinion makes good beers. Thier like a second tier brewery and they try hard but this is just an average scotch ale, pale ale, amber ale, whatever. I like this beer perhaps out of a tap in Vermont it would be better but today it’s just average.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Newk (204) - - FEB 26, 2012
poured from bottle into a pint glass. Pours a medium orange color with a nice foamy head.
The aromas are a bit muted with some aromas of malts, toffee, and caramel with a touch of hops. Not all that deep either sadly
medium bodied with a smooth feel and flavors of caramel and malts
A good scotch ale and very drinkable. It would be better if there was more depth to it, but it’s enjoyable regardless
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 nevets4433 (442) - - FEB 3, 2012
12 oz. bottle from a shaker. Pours a deep amber color with a tiny, white head. Aroma is very sweet but nondescript. Taste has intertwining notes of citrus, honey, and metal. Overall a pretty decent winter beer, but not the best.

Pours a very cloudy amber with a head that faded quickly into a ring. I’m getting sweet malts, some smoke flavor in the nose. Very malty. Very heavy smelling. Flavor is Very malt forward with a hint of battering hops at the end. Kind of sweet. Thin mouthfeel. This is a decent beer with few flaws.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 crossovert (2791) - Wisconsin, USA - JAN 10, 2012
Smells like a pale ale with some caramel. The flavor is a bit bitter, but rotten tasting. Just a foul of a beer. Tastes like hastily made brewpub fare.
