COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hit the Trail is a deep amber ale with a rich and smooth flavor. Malty undertones of vanilla and caramel are kept in check by the addition of Northern Brewer hops.

Fairly thick with a medium tan head and dark drown body. I love the malty/sweet finish and no bitterness. Nice amount of spice in there to make it a good brown ale. This is a smooth beer! If you like Newcastle, then give this one a try, you’ll probably like it as well."

Pours a darker amber with basically no head. Nose is woody with a touch of caramel and just a touch of dust. Flavor is a bit woody with sweet tones. Robust and thick with flavor. Off the flavor alone I would say this is worth trying. Feel is nice on the liquid and good with the carbonation too. Extremely drinkable. Off the flavor alone, worth going for. This on-tap might be interesting. On cask...who knows.

Small Foamy head that disappeared. Malty aroma. Brown Color. Malty caramel taste. This is a very smooth balanced beer.

Bottle. Pours clear coppery amber with a fluffy off-white head. Floral, nutty aroma. Light body and medium carbonation. Just a dash of brown sugar in the taste, not a lot else going on. Crisp finish. Probably a great beer to wash down whatever you’re eating.

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again.

Bottle. Nuts and mild alcohol in this predominately malty aroma. Vague fruitiness with some caramel. Dark amber body with a creamy, rocky off-white head. Crisp, slightly hot taste, bitter but not really flavorful. Indeterminate blandness. Body hovers on the lighter side of medium.

On tap at Leunig’s Cafe as "Leunig’s Ale". Dusty grain, straw, and old barn aroma. Mild nutty notes and a bit of stale coffee. Light neutral fruit and a bit of dark honey. Dark coppery clear with foamy off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Typical brown ale, nutty malt profile with bit of carbonic tang. Very mild neutral fruitiness and a bit of hoppy finish. Mild nutty after but fairly clean. Fine with food.

WOULD BE INTERESTING UNDER THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES. WINTER TIME WITH CAKE BY THE YULE LOG PERHAPS. AND SOMEONE SPECIAL. NUTTY, WATERY BURNT CANDY TYPE ALE THAT IS COMMON. THE BEER ISN’T GOING TO INTERFERE WITH ANYTHING ELSE GOING ON.DECENT BROWNY. I AM NOT FOND OF THE FINISH.
