COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Real India Pale Ale (IPA), as it was first brewed in the days of the British Empire, was not the carefully filtered brew that we call IPA beer today. The first IPAs were unfiltered and featured extra hops and higher strength as a preservative for the long trip from England to the colony of India. Our Traditional IPA ale is naturally carbonated, dry-hopped & unfiltered like the old days.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance is a golden colored body with no head and leaves a ringy spotty laciness around the glass. The smell has hops, subdued pine, mild malt background. The taste is bitter through the hops and the pine, subdued malts coming through as the beer warms. The palate is about a medium, sessionable, bitter yet malty coating over the mouth and tongue, no aftertaste, watery finish. Overall, not a bad IPA, good.

Very good-tasting IPA, hoppy and rich, just not quite an overpowering mouthful as say, a Victory brew. High, but not excessive alcohol content. . I like this a lot though!

Draft. Gold, a little haze, nice lacing. Orange, lemon, crisp, a touch of bitterness, drinkable easy ipa. Pretty good, semi-classic. Best option at a neighborhood happy hour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from Drum Hill Liqour, Chelmsford, MA. Amber with a thin white head; heady, sweet, fruit blossom, aroma; slightly acidic fruity bitter taste; with some warming spicy hops to finish. Very pleasant and drinkable, but certainly neither a traditional IPA, nor a modern American one.

Draft. Clear, golden color. Nice hoppy aroma. Flavor tasted a little bit off, like maybe dirty lines? Citrusy flavor, but the aftertaste was a little off. Overall not too bad though.

Bottle. This is a decent passable IPA with some decent bite and a good price point.

Had this on tap at some restaurant in Syracuse. Very solid IPA. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a moderate foamy white top. Aroma is citrus and pine hops and honey malts. Taste has a nice dry pine and citrus hop bitterness bite that sooths with the grain malt, I had a couple.

Clear old gold color with a frothy head that reduces to a thick head cover, sheets of lace. Taste is typical, yet tasty: a combination of malt and hops from beginning to end, with both asserting themselves enough to satisfy any drinker. Even the finish is first bitter, then malty, then bitter again. Fun to drink. Particularly good with pizza or Mexican food.
