Unfortunately the pumpkin did not come through as well as I would have liked. It tasted like a watered down version of a pumpkin beer.

Solid pumpkin! Avg pour, aroma, & taste. It’s clean & crisp but nothing particularly special here!

12oz bottle from Xroads. This is a big disappointment. Water down flavor, watery body. Aroma isn’t even that great and that’s the best part of this beer. Aroma of gingerbread, nutmeg, cinnamon some vomit and sawdust underneath. Blah this is a drainpour.

Transfer from BA review on 9-28-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours an orange-copper color with a small white fizzy head. The head fades quite quickly leaving only a trace level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is very pleasant overall. It has a nice roasted pumpkin smell mixed with a little bit of brown sugar and caramel sweetness. Other aromas of some cinnamon and a decent amount of nutmeg are there as well, giving the aroma a nice, semi-dry, pumpkin pie aroma overall. Taste – The taste begins with a decent caramel and brown sugar sweetness as well as some pumpkin and bready flavors. As the flavor advances the sweetness fades with the overall taste growing slightly drier. Along with the sweetness fading some, the pumpkin flavors grow more intense and take on more notes of a roasted nature. The spice flavors also come to the tongue at this time, with a decent showing of nutmeg and allspice and a little bit of cinnamon as well. In the end, some of the sweeter flavors that were lost come back and grow a bit more intense, with all the flavor transitions throughout the taste, leaving a nice roasted and moderately sweetened spiced pumpkin flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the medium to slightly lower side. Overall the medium thickness and carbonation are rather nice of the style as it makes for a rather nice balance between drinkability as well as still maintaining enough of a thickness to support the more spiced pumpkin flavors of the brew. Overall – A rather sweet but enjoyable pumpkin ale with a nice blend of roasted pumpkin and spice. Overall rather easy drinking and tasty.

Bottle. Cloudy copper with a medium, dense tan head. Aroma is soft pumpkin pie, spices, caramel and sweet malt notes. Taste is pumpkin pie spices, caramel, sweet malt, pumpkin bread and soft pumpkin pie. Body is medium with a moderate, lively carbonation. Ends with more pumpkin pie, toasted bread, spices, sweet malt, candied pumpkin, caramel and light earthy notes.

On tap half pint at Gilly's Beer & Fine Wine in Rockville, MD. Very lightly hazy, rusty copper with small khaki head and fair lacing. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, spaghetti squash, caramel, brown sugar and toast. Taste of bitter squash (ugh!), nutmeg, cinnamon, toasted malt, orange, toast and earthy hops. Light/medium body and high/medium carbonization. This rating might be unfair, but the beer tastes like squash, which I find revolting. Apparently, I taste a nasty chemical flavor in most squashes (but not usually pumpkin) that other people do not taste. Anyway, I find this beer undrinkable. Most others will not have that issue, but it is still a subpar pumpkin ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a smaller bubbly off white lacing head. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, toasted malt and hints of caramel. Flavor of pumpkin pie spicing, toasted malt and caramel. Nice and dry. Well done pumpkin ale.

Drank from a twelve ounce bottle. My favorite pumpkin beer I have had this year (I’ve only had two others this year: Stegmaier & Travelers Shandy) This is a great pumpkin beer, not overpoweringly pumpkiny. I know what beer I am putting in my pumpkin beer dispenser!

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, West Seneca, NY. An attractive reddish amber colour with a fading off-white head; aroma of pumpkin, nutmeg and cloves; and a taste to match, with a sweet caramel malt body; and a dry warmth from the spices to finish. I’m not a great fan of pumpkin beers, but this one is a reasonable example.

Wood, cinnamon, nutmeg nose. Hazy copper, headless. Pumpkin and nutmeg predominantly. Dried leaves also present. Velvety mouthfeel
