A great thirst quencher that takes the use of malts and hops off the beaten path. Brewed in traditional Kölschbier style, this beer has a clean, refreshing flavor profile, with strong citrusy and mild peppery notes deriving from the use of lemon rind and ground peppercorns in the brewing process. Background of Product Development: Originally released in July 2013 as a limited, draught-only offering under our Brown Bag series, this brew was so popular that we decided to bottle it for our new Spring Seasonal. Malts: Wheat and Carapils Hops: Nugget and Hallertau

Pours a light clear golden with a creamy head with great retention. Aromas spicey, lemony, slight grapefruit, grass and slight spruce. Flavors of light zesty lemon, slight pepper, light grass and light grapefruit citrus. Medium sweet and definitely refreshing! This is probably my favorite kolsch yet.

Crisp, clear, and refreshing. Purposely put together. Nicely citrusy but too pepper for my taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at MacGregors. Decent attempt at the style. Appearance is meh. Clear, light, but better looking than a pale fizzy American lager. +1 point. Nose and palate has light German hops. A bit of lemon. Okay.

Bottle. Fruity kolsch overall. Light gold color, clear, thin head. Added peppery aroma, lots of carbonation.

12oz bottle from a Wegman’s in Buffalo, NY. Straw with a thin white head; fresh, slightly sour, fruity aroma; full bodied with a lemony taste; and a touch of pepper to finish.

A clean peppery citrus flavor. Crisp and fleshing with just the right amount hops. Spring in a bottle.

Draft at Thai Rock. Doesn’t taste like a Kolsch. Honey, floral, malty. Meh.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of stale malt, some grassy hops and lemon zest. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is of grassy fops, bready malt, chalk and spices. Finish is long and spicy. Bottle seems to be old.

Average or below kolsch style beer. Pour is a clear yellow with a thin white head. Flavor is lacking on this brew. A bit too light for my tastes.

Poured from bottle into pils glass. Pours a bright clear gold/straw color with 1 finger head. Head disspates to ring fairly quickly, but there is fairly significant lacing. Aroma - cereal grains, touch of citrus and spicy hop. Taste follows, but lemon is more apparent on taste. Clean on palate with refreshing, mouthwatering finish with a touch of black pepper very late. Fairly nice on this warm spring afternoon post-yard work.
