Dogbrick (2161), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 22, 2008 Bottle brought back by a traveling neighbor (as "Jay Peak Tram Ale"). This brew is a clear dark amber color with a thin and foamy beige head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of sweet toffee and malt. Light, clean body with sweet grainy malt, caramel and fruit flavors. Very little hops are detected. The finish is sweet with caramel malt lingering in the aftertaste. Pretty average overall.
ChazyRPh (569), Chazy, New York, USA Jan 30, 2007 Bottle purchased in South Burlington, labelled "Jay Peak Tram Ale". Clear amber pour with a small off white head. Sweet caramelly aroma. Malty flavor, sweet caramel. Not really balanced with hops, mostly chewy malts. Pleasant, good session beer. DYCSoccer17 (1987), Davis, California, USA Sep 9, 2006 12 ounce bottled labelled "Jay Peak Tram Ale". Mildly fruity, a bit sweet, a bit vinous aroma with some caramel malts present. Light DMS detected. Transparent amber/orangey color with a frothy yellowish head. Fairly attractive. Lightly sweet, caramel, and a touch metallic flavoring to start. No hops detected at all, perhaps that is due to age? Nevertheless, this is thin and watery with a light sweetness. Not overly flavorful. Bland and unmemorable. Perfect for the yuppie Green Mountain skiiers.
