Triple Bag is brewed in a small batch from single infusion that uses only the first runnings of the mash. The result is a brew made from only the purest part of the grains, providing a uniquely rich and dense flavor, with an aroma reminiscent of the finest dessert wines. This brew is naturally carbonated and is an example of brewing purity that is rarely experienced by those other than brewers themselves.

Bottle. Mahogany with off-white head. Aromas of toffee, oak, dark fruit, caramel, tropical fruit, roasted nut. Flavors of toffee, caramel, tropical fruit, dark fruit, roasted nuts, tobacco. Slightly sweet finish with alcohol presence. Full body with slick mouthfeel and low carbonation. The step between Double Bag and LT Ale seems more relative than the step between Double Bag and Triple bag. Still a good sipper.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label has a brief description and it lists the abv at 9.2% abv. Appearance: In the glass it looks dark brown with some lighter brownish tan highlights. It also seems to be a bit hazy as well. On top I got a tall loose or soapy head which slowly settles down to just a thin ring of foam at the edge of the glass. Smell: The aroma is full, sweet and very malty. It has a deep raisin/dark dried fruity character with sweet bready notes as well. Taste / Palate: It’s flavor is full bodied and loaded with notes of caramel and sweet raisin bread. There is a pleasant boozy warmth though out and its finnish brings only a just very slight earthy hops flavor. The feel is full, well rounded and a bit slick but not in a cloying way. Notes: Just as a side notes this beer was aged over a year in my beer cellar.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a dark brown/amber colored body that left a film of a small white head. Some really light spider web lacing graced the sides of the glass. The body was too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising. The smell was malty with some nice strong scents of dark fruits coming in strong. The taste takes these same flavorings and ends up hiding the alcohol very well. The palate sits about a medium with some slight sharpness on the tongue. Since the alchol was hidden well, I would say this was a mostly drinkable beer. Overall, hey, this was a good one, I liked it for the style and for the beer, I would definitely get this again - I might be floating after several of these but probably wouldn’t feel it in the beginning.

Bottle shared with Ariel at Beer Market Jaffa. Hazy deep red-amber color with a beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, fruitiness, a bit of toast, nutty hints and light hoppy notes. Sweet malty flavor, caramelly, fruity, a bit biscuity, finishes with bitterness and mild citric hops. Medium to full-bodied, rounded mouthfeel. Decent, balanced and quite drinkable for 9.2%.

Pours a dark brown/red color with a small khaki colored head that leaves some lacing in the glass. Smells of caramel malts with something weird, maybe a bad combination of hops. Taste of sweet malt followed by booze and then the weird smell becomes a taste, kind of unpleasant. Alcohol is not hidden at all in this brew

Disappointed, Double Bag is a fav of mine, not so much with this. Not a smooth tasting beer, boozey, just didn’t make it.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours amber/ruby with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of caramel malts, some weird pale malts, some alcohol, and light hops. Flavor about the same. Average texture. There is something a little weird with this, and the alcohol isn’t masked well. Could be better.

Very astringent leave. Taste has some coffee. Pours dark brown with good head and lacing. Some dark chocolate. Soft carbonation with cloying texture. Bottle.

Draft @ The Reservoir, Waterbury, VT. Dark mahogany color, thin ring of head. Aroma of syrupy caramel, very slight booze with some fig juice. After sipping the glass for a good 10 minutes, it wasn’t really working for me. Texture is very syrupy with the same flavors as the aroma. Alcohol shows up a bit too much. I guess if you like big malty beers, you may like this. Perhaps a few bottles to cellar to mellow out the ABV would make this much improved. I wouldn’t recommend on draft. The Double Bag is a better drink.

Poured into snifter a muddy copper brown with zero head formation. Rich aromas of sweet malts, molasses, caramel, and alcohol...similar to barleywine. Flavors are different however with toasted malts, followed by bitter hops and finishes sour with a lasting off putting aftertaste. Not very complex on the notes. Little carbonation and a medium body. Aftertaste still unpleasant. Aromas are inviting, but this beer wasn't very enjoyable. --- Cheers

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2013 Bottle into a goblet. Pour is a very dark brown with next to no head. Aroma is that a fruity wine with rich malt over tones. Taste is a very rich malt with wine like rolls. Finish is a nice warm wash of malt. A very good ale, one of the best.
