3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is probably as microbrew as you can get. This was at Long Valley Brew Pub. This is one of the best beers they have.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance - Very dark amber in color. Almost no head, very little carbonation
Smell - roasted caramel and earthy notes.
Taste - smooth and mellow, coffee like with a hint of smoke
Mouthability - light and mellow
Drinkability - easy, I can drink several of these in one sitting
Serving type: Growler / nitro-tap
I like this beer because it goes down smooth. The abv is not listed but I expect it to be in the 5 range. Not hot at all but gives a nice buzz.
I have tried all the beers Long Valley has produced in the past year. Several of them are good but this is my favorite. I had this from nitro-tap on their outdoor patio Sunday for lunch and brought home a growler. The only difference was the pint i had in a shaker at the brewery had more head than I’m getting off the growler just one day later.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pint on tap at the brewpub in Long Valley. Dark brown color, minimal head, aroma is sweet, roasty, malty, and yeasty. Taste is strong sweet with some bitter, with good complexity. Great body, not watered down at all, somewhat creamy texture, with a sweet but crisp aftertaste. As mentioned in previous ratings, this is a great session beer and pairs up well with typical pub fare.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft, pours blackish brown with small off white head, nice lacing. Notes of chocolate, roasted nuts, dark malts, plum, and wood. Wouldn’t say its full bodied but more light to medium for the style. Light carb. Easy to drink porter and the best I tried at Long Valley.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a smooth dark, dark brown color with a khaki-colored head. Not too much head retention, just enough, and the full roasted nuttiness of the aroma is prevalent. Attack is crisp and toasty, but the full maltiness quickly is apparant, creamy body and a perfect hint of coffee on the back end. Wonderful porter, my favorite of this style to date! Get a growler to go :-)
