Commercial Description: Emerging from the London area in the early 1700’s Porter was advertised as being richer and more nourishing than lighter ale. It was intended for porters carters and other heavy labourers who would find in it the strength to accomplish tasks no spirit drinker could perform. Medium to full bodied with a distinctive chocolate & black malt character.
Dark, brown, nearing black with an oily tan head. Lots of chocalte in the nose with some added dark malt. Was a tad thin and oily with not a lot of flavour. Finshes semi-sweet.
