3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22. Cool name, pretty cool label (though it could be more eye-catching--but the design is cool). Dig the candy apple red cap. Pours an opaque black with a surging, sudsy dark tan head that goes away after a few drinks, settling to nothing at all. Big roasty nose, a little sweet alcohol, some peanut butter. Creamy thick body with sluggish carb. Roasty dark black bread mid palate with a nice toasty peanut butter note somewhere in the background. That sweet alcohol note bounces back around, and the beer could do without that. Nice warm finish though.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly lasting.
Body is black (almost opaque, flashlight tested).
Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, bitter chocolate), lightly hoppy (grapefruit).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation.
A simple, roasty example. Nothing special, but solid.
