On tap @ Uber. Dark and spicy with notable Belgian yeast aroma. Cloves and raisins lead a deep, rich taste. Lightly sweet aftertaste. Not the best Lost Abbey I’ve had, but that still leaves plenty of room...

Bottle 750 ml. Pours a darkest mahogany/brown color, with frothy, tan head foam that diminished slowly. The nose started with a hint of candy cane mintiness that could come from the rosemary influence, then proceeded with sweetness, and dark fruit as raisin & plum. Medium to full bodied, with a high carbonation. The taste has dark fruit flavor, added some tartness & alcohol warmth. Aftertaste is liquirish and mintiness, lingers! A quad with a lot of different tastes, maybe to much... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12% abv, 75 cl bottle. A very dark brown beer with a big and light brown head. Aroma is just great, dried fruits, sweet berries, flowers, plums, also unique spicyness. Even the aroma is dark it’s still fresh. Taste has dark fruits, great sweet raspberries, some port wine. Taste is also dominated by strong spicyness, at least ginger without burning, also rosemary. Th bitterness is drying the end together with strong spices. Hint of alcohol. The great freshness is there all the time. Almost full bodied, strong carbonation, quite smooth. The great beer with a unique and marvellous spicyness, the glass is empty too soon. Spicy.

Bottle shared with Meilby. Thanks! Poured a dark brown with solid head. Nose has cherries (very like raisins/almonds in glühwein mixture), dark chocolate, slight coffee. Feels like a strong drink. Tasted wonderfully smooth and left the palate refresh as after a christmas glühwein :-). Good stuff. This one’d likely go higher if re-rated. I prefer more coffee in the darkest and strongest beers I usually go for; but this is a different style. Very enjoyable.

Cork and cage bottle. 2008 vintage. Wow, this one’s at least 6 years old! Minimal pop from the cork. Uh-oh, could that signify an oxidized beer? Pours dark brown with amber hues and NO head. This is troubling, however, the nose tells an incredible story. Massively rich and complex dark fruits and spices. Layers of booze soaked raisins and dates, honey, rosemary, ginger, and allspice. Medium sweet attack. Med-full body, thick texture, minimal carbonation, and a bitter tannic finish. Almost port-like at this stage. Not getting the Brett, but this is still a great beer. Probably 2-3 years past it’s prime.

Pours dark brown body with some reddish hues. Fluffy tan head with decent staying power. Audible crackling of carbonation throughout. Yeasty aroma with spice, figs, and raisins. There’s an underlying booziness. Sweet taste of caramel and more dark fruits. Earthy, herbal finish with a prickly mouthfeel. Many complexities folded into this delightful beer, albeit, very well balanced.

Probably best brewery in US and by my house! This one is unreal with tons of fruity esters and funk from Brett. Vicious vinious olumbrasinbcharacter. Great carbonation light and perfect carbonation. Finishes malty and balanced mouthfeel world class, or universe class.

750 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma of toasted malts, raisins and bread. Flavour of toasted malts, sweet caramel, syrup, mild earthiness and mild spiciness. Medium bodied. Dry sweet finish. Nice.

750 ml bottle from Bierkompass

Pours dark brown with a large foamy head. Aroma of ripe fruits, raisins, plums, wood, spices and honey. Taste is sweet, malty, ripe fruity and syrupy with notes of plums, honey and spices. Finish is warming, sweetish and malty with notes of ripe fruits, plum, honey and spices. Okay.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle corked and capped 2013 poured into a Trappist glass. Dark brown with medium/small beige head. Aroma is light dark fruit, medium body, medium carbonation, and some small-bubble lacing. Taste is dark fruit (mostly raisins), rosemary, some chocolate, and some honey. Quite a bit of rosemary and it doesn’t work for me.

750 ml bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a dark brown with a thin beige head of foam. The aroma is dry, musty, bretty, chocolate, herbal. The taste is moderately funky and roasty. Bigger bodied beer and soft carbonation. Not great, but oddly acceptable.
