On tap at Lost Abbey. Pours brown-black with thick off white head that leaves plenty of lace. Root beer and licorice on the nose. Root beer! Thick full-bodied palate. Well balanced sweetness with a spicy undertone. They say there are raisins in there and I can believe it but it is subtle. Awesome Belgian-Style dark farmhouse beer.

Bottle share at Evernote. Pours a murky brown. Aroma is spicy fruit bread, plums, herbs. Mouthfeel is a bit gritty but fizzy. Initial taste is cinnamon, heavy dough, dark fruits. Seems very complex and rich. Colleagues were saying that the flavors were transforming over time... but wasn’t that excited to wait around for the next sip.

Bottled 12% ABV:
Pours dark brown with a weak head.
Anise and alcohol on the nose; smells like Jägermeister.
Taste is anise, oak casks and harsh alcohol.
A little bit too strong for its own good.

Flaska från systembolaget. Mörkbrun kulör. doft av rostad malt anis och russin. Smaken innefattar det mesta. En ganska påtaglig bitterhet. En framträdande syrlighet. Örter, rostade toner. Äppelkart. Mycket

Extra from Malloy. Dark brown. This comes off as a raisin flavored beer. Some hints of dark Belgian. But mostly raisin

750ml bottle served in a Rochefort Trappist glass. A: Pours a dark brown color forming a thin bubbled, very creamy and quite molasses beige head. Excellent retention and tons of lingering and molasses lacings formed and left in the glass. S: Complex nose, of course. Strong notes of dry dark fruits, caramel and roasted malts and spices. Boozy. T: Sweet upfront. Belgian Strong Ale style. Strong notes of dry dark fruits like plums and raisins. Candi sugar. Damn strong notes of sweet bread, spices and earth. M: Heavy molasses body. Good carbonation. Caramel, candi sugar, dry dark fruits in the aftertaste.... O: Great drinkability. Classic Belgian Strong Ale brewed in USA...

@Basunen 14-11-01: ganska stark doft av alkohol och anis. Smaken är lite lenare med tydlig krydda. Små hint av koriander. Het men gott. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

750 ml bottle at home. Murky brown with small tan head. Aroma of rosemary, sweet sugary malt notes, herbs, spice and alcohol. Taste is rich, fairly balanced, alcohol, spice, rosemary, laurels, sugar with a alcoholic and herby finish. Nice and strange beer

The aroma of wild berries and alcohol. The taste is a lot of alcohol, yeast and light fruitiness. Fairly heavy bitterness in the aftertaste that fills the mouth for a long while. Too much alcohol in a beer. Not good at all unfortunately. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
