3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 14, 2007 Pours a deep brown with a nice tan head. The nose was interesting, though it had a hint of soy, which scared me. It smelled a lot like an Asian marinade with soy, ginger, brown sugar and rice vinegar that I make. In the mouth, it’s better than that, with hints of the raisins and spices. Slightly bitter aftertaste. A little watery. Lots of alcohol warming. I was disappointed at first, but after a while (the alcohol kicked in?), and I didn’t notice the unpleasant flavors and aromas and enjoyed the rich fruit flavors. Definitely would like to try again.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A- pours a hazy mahogany brown with a solid finger light tan head with good retention. Decent lacing. S- raisins and honey are obvious. Banana esters and bubble gum are pungent. Some astringent, 7up, figs, overripe apple and zinc. Rosemary comes through too. Brown sugar and molasses in the back. M- medium oily body that is also lightly tacky with a medium astringent palate. Good carbonation. T- astringent, Belgium yeast, sour oak and raisins all come through at first. The mid palate has mineral water and zinc with some honey, nutmeg, rosemary and muddled spices. Ending is dry. Lots more yeast, honey, figs, wood, bubble gum and sugar.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bardzo dobry belg. W aromacie przeważa ziołowość, z wyraźnym akcentem rozmarynu, podczas ogrzania piwo staje się coraz bardziej czekoladowe, wyraźne nuty winne, śliwkowe, czerwone owoce. W smaku bardzo podobnie, uderza rozmaryn, lekka czekoladowość, suszone owoce. Pełnia średnia, doskonale zamaskowany alkohol, niezła pijalność. Lekki kwasek od brettów.

Raisins, nice balance, great finish and aroma. Good sipping beer. The rosemary is faint, but preset. Hint of honey, just enough-seems like a late add. Nice with good Cuban cigar.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep brown nearly black thick pour with inch or so of oatmeal head. Nose of crisp brett, strong sour apple, and berries and figs. Lively carbonation, thick oily mouthfeel, crisp tingly finish that isn’t very dry. Taste is smokey, leathery, dark fruits, raisin, carmel/molasses, and figs are present, nice round robust sour mixed in. Amazing beer.
