damn. when youíre bent on stoney chron, sunk into leather, head like a bowling ball..This thickness rectifies. Damp nose of must & grain alcohol. Bitter slapped intro, thick kumquat-rind sweetness laying atop. soaked fruits & raisins with bitter violations. Sit on your throne

750 ml bottle corked and caged from Coconuts (Evergreen). Deep, dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma and flavor of dark fruit, bready malts (caramel, chocolate), rosemary, red wine, raisins, yeast, orange peel, light herbs/spices, light bitterness. Medium plus body with a creamy feel, soft carbonation and a dry finish. Pretty complex and strong, a nice sipper.

Pours a dark reddish brown with a good head and nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma offers quite a bit of rose and raisin. Itís got a sort of odd floral/brett character... some cinnamon, weird but intriguing.
The flavor has a bunch of spices, cardamom & cinnamon flavors are pretty up front. Itís got a good floral character and some herbal bitterness. Itís dry & leathery with some raisin.
Huh, seems like a whole bunch of stuff that Iím not that into woven pretty well into a tasty package. Kind of cool.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: The body is a ruddy chestnut hue with a gritty and opaque texture. The head is tall and long lasting, forming a dense khaki colored coating.
Aroma: The rosemary is prominent right away with a piney presence. This reminds me more of a Christmas ale on the aroma initially. Figgy malts underlie this, but they are hard to notice initially with the strong herbal aroma.
Taste: The intro is malty with a figgy presence, clove and rosemary quickly follow. The finish picks up a bit with some brown sugary malts, but the spices really balance it out. The honey doesnít make an appearance to my palate, but this is pleasant. The finish lingers of fig and rosemary, but moreso rosemary.
Palate: Big bodied with foamy carbonation.
Overall: This is a very pleasant beer, though I think many will find it to be too heavy on the herbs. I would love to pair with some meats and see how it works out.

Draft at brewery. Pours coca cola brown with a khaki head. Leaves a lot of lacing. I definitely get the raisins both on the nose and on the tongue. I donít know if I get a ton of Brett but its definely tangy. Hides the alcohol well. Very dangerous in a good way. This one you give to guests to turn them onto craft beer.

Not our favorite Lost Abbey beer, but still pretty good. Pours a dark black with a hint of red, and a thick tan head. Smells like raisins, with some floral notes and dried cherries. Needs a bit of time to open up. Taste is creamy, and starts a bit sour, with lots of raisins. He honey comes in at the finish. Had in the bottle.
