4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 HighWine (842) - Whalesbro, Illinois, USA - JAN 16, 2011Bottle. Grizzly brown pour with no head (from this bottle any way.) Velvety sweet nose with fragrances of rum raisin and wet wood. No carbonation at all, which makes me wonder if this beer was stored too cold for the yeast to stay active. Luxurious in the mouth. Malty sweet with a hint of rosemary. A little boozy and very reminiscent of a tawny port wine.

Split a 750ml bottle of this. Poured a dark brown, slightly ruby color with a off-white head. Aroma was plenty of dark fruit notes, sweet malts, brown sugar character. Flavor had figs, touch of sweet raisins. A touch dry, but not overpowering of a beer here. Enjoyed a bunch.

Dark brown with HUGE 2 finger, chocolatey head That just sits. No carbonation and a TON of lacing. Nose is very sweet and yeasty. Dark fruits all over. Plum, grape, cloves, coriander. Mouth is also very sweet and yeasty up front. Dark fruits, mainly plum, and cloves are once again present here.

Bottle. Murky brown pour with an off white head. Raisin and caramel malt aromas. All kinds of spices, caramel malts, raisins, honey, and some light woody notes. Good body, good mouthfeel, and carbonation.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 MikeLuke23 (35) - Tampa, Florida, USA - APR 23, 2013
Great Belgian offering from Lost Abbey. Tons of dark fruit & chocolate notes. Perfect balance of malt sweetness and Belgian yeast character. I don't get alot of Brett character, but there is a delicate note of of some tart & funk, probably just from the dark fruit character of the beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 NeuroPliny (36) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 25, 2013
On tap at Lost Abbey. Pours brown-black with thick off white head that leaves plenty of lace. Root beer and licorice on the nose. Root beer!
Thick full-bodied palate. Well balanced sweetness with a spicy undertone. They say there are raisins in there and I can believe it but it is subtle. Awesome Belgian-Style dark farmhouse beer.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Sikash (175) - North Carolina, USA - FEB 28, 2013
Poured from a 2012 bottle into a 12 oz tulip glass. Pours a nice hazy dark brown color with a light tan frothy head that lasts a good while. Aroma is nice and sweet with ester notes with dark fruit, almost tart. Flavor is bitter sweet with notes of dark fruit, banana’s, and alcohol on the back end. Mouthfeel is medium with above average carbonation. I think i like this beer colder surprisingly but overall this was a great beer.
