2008 bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with thick light tan head, lots of lacing and retention. Not quite the pop or gush I was expecting, but it is definitely not light in carbonation. Aroma of belgian yeast, brett, dark dried fruits, spices, chocolate, and roasted malt. Flavor matches well with an additional nutty character and an nice complementary sour kick to a belgian dark that I actually really loved. This is one hell of a beer that I was expecting to not like so much. 2 years must make this the perfect age. If this gets better, I really need another damn bottle.

August 5, 2014. Bottle 2012 vintage. Pours dark brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma is dark sugars, raisins, figs, oak, brett, rosemary. Taste is light/medium sweet dark sugars with dry spicy and light tart notes. Finish is dry bitter, spicy, rosemary and brett. Medium bodied, average carbonation.

Pours brown with a huge tan head. Nice aroma I’d malt and raisins. Nice taste and palate. High carbonation gives it quite a bit of acidity

bottle. Aroma of honey, rosemary, dried fruits, caramel. Taste is sweet and spicy upfront, moderate bitter hops in the end. Ideal for sipping, gives you that warm alcohol feeling, also very christmassy. Well balanced, complex and tasty. Excellent.

A true strong Belgian, just not specifically to my taste. Hint of floral on the tongue. Pungent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Really nice strong, slight bubblegum, great rasin and plum aroma. Flavors matched, somewhat earthy but added to balance. Some warmth and that helped the way this beer presntd itself.

From bottle. Pours a hazy dark brown with a dense tan head that settles, then stays forever. Moderate lacing. Big aroma of dark fruits and spice, with a bit of bananas from the Belgian yeasts. Taste is caramel, malty, dark fruits, rich bread. Sweet. Very slight bitterness in the finish.

Dark brown with a thick off white head. Aroma is bready with hints of dark fruit. Flavor is literally that of liquid bread. Thick body, smooth finish with just a touch of something tart under the thick bread flavor. Heavy malt without being too sweet, very well balanced. Wife: 3.8

Cloudy brown-red, tan head. Spice, honey, deep earthy tones. Predominated by sour and some sweeter notes. Long finish, mostly sour. Changes throughout the entire finish. Medium body, oily. Interesting beer, quite complex. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters, showing a darkest mahogany/brown color, with frothy, tan head foam that diminished slowly to a persistent ring & film, and left some waves & spots of lacing on the glass. The nose started with a hint of candy cane mintiness that I may have perceived as rosemary influence, then proceeded with sweetness, and dark fruit as raisin & plum. Medium+ to full bodied, the taste continued the dark fruit flavor, added some tartness & alcohol warmth, and was more than successfully carried to the palate by a lively effervescence. Nuf said!
