Bottle (12.7 fl.oz.) from Vinmonopolet, Oslo. Finger-thick light beige head, good retention, leaves an uneven film and some lacing close to the surface. Murky mahogany colour. Impressive aroma with sweet dried fruit (raisin/prune/fig) and a solid dose of rounded vinegary/sour cherry acidity. Full body, soft, mouth-filling carbonation. Complex taste that exhibits alternating waves of sweetness and acidity, quite overwhelming at first, but leaving a pleasantly balanced, mildly bitter-sweet, but mostly sour aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with nearly zero head. Sweet caramel aroma over mild carbonation. Tastes like danger. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap, shot size sample since they only had about 3 ounces left when we ordered it. I got about 2 sips of this so reviewing it on a very small experience. I will say this, I look forward to trying to chase this down on release. Sweet with a pleasant flavor of tequila which does not overwhelm or burn. Based on what i got to taste the 13.5 abv was well hidden. Now if i had a full serving, maybe things would be different. Very interested in revisiting this review.

Chocolate hued, heavily shaded appearance. The reposado barrel is imposing in the aroma, with its wood glue and alcohol soaked piney sweetness. Lacking in dimensions, reliant on overpowering barrel and alcohol components that are determinedly bathroom-like in affect. Toilet bowl plus plants and sugar. The flavor is much the same, though moments of delicate pear sweetness and agave greenness pair well with the calcified cheese notes of the base sour. Insect repellent and wood glue remain overwhelming. Though the palate is tolerable for the most part, and surprisingly reserved for heat, it is still difficult to get through; grossly funky is a strange term but it seems applicable here. Rotten fruit notes linger throughout, and coupled with the bizarre complications of the tequila barrel this profile is one of the most unfortunately unusual in my memory. Points for weirdness.

10 ounce sample on tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. The aroma is very sweet and sugary. Vanilla extracts are here. Caramel and toffee are also strong. Really don’t get much of the barrel in the nose. Super sweet. Rather transparent mahogany colored body with a small cream-colored head. Starts with significantly sweet chocolate and toffee flavors. Light roasts in the middle. Tequila flavors come through in the end. Warming. A big, decadent beer. A little too sweet, and just too much.
