SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Apr 27, 2008 Hazy deep gold pour with a foamy white head. Spicy peppery aroma with hints of honey and fruit. Slightly sweet, very spicy flavor. A bit of fruit and yeast. Medium body. Good brew. Haslinger (640), Syracuse, New York, USA Apr 19, 2008 Tap @ Port Brewing. Fruity aroma, apple perhaps. Colored just like apple juice with very little head. The taste is winey without being overpowering. Good malt some yeast flavor. Would like to try an aged bottle. Would try again tronraner (1905), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Apr 15, 2008 Bottle at the April Get Together. Pours hazy yellow with big white head. The aroma is spicy and zesty with strong grain and light honey notes. The flavor is grainy with some huskiness, pepper, earth, maybe caraway. Sourish finish. Pretty good stuff. SpringsLicker (2041), Tennessee, USA Apr 14, 2008 Thanks to Suttree for sharing this at the April Get Together.
A slightly cloudy dark yellow pour produces a small, yet lasting head of white that proves to have some decent lace as well.
Malty lemony aroma.
Slightly sweet, spicy flavor that picks up some dryness towards the finish. Shag (1922), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Apr 13, 2008 A cloudy yellow appearance with a rather large white head. The aroma is full of peaches, apricots, and lemons. The flavor is quite sour with more of the above mentioned fruit showing and a slight spicy presence. This reminds me more of a saison but oh well a very good beer regardless. Suttree (2702), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 13, 2008 Cloudy orange, nice foamy white head. Really nice aroma - spicy and peppery, with a note of raisin. Nice crips flavor, as well, with earthy flavors melding with an herbal, spicy note. tronraner called it caraway seeds, and I’m gonna steal that for my review, as well. Tasty, well made beer. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Apr 11, 2008 Updated: Jun 4, 2008Bottle shared at tasting courtesy of Humulone Red. Thanks!
Pours a hazy, orange color and smells of lemony sweet tea. Taste is mild, dry dusty sweet lemony character. Light to medium bodied and a fizzy mouthfeel. Pretty unique, and very drinkable. I liked this one ok, but it was a bit sweet. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Apr 10, 2008 Not my favorite style at all, but this one was pretty nice. Goldish amber in color with a sour, yeasty nose that is pure Belgium. Bit of citrus and yeast in the flavor, bready. Enjoyable and a better example of the style than many.
