Commercial Description:
From the French word "Garde" meaning something worth keeping, this Farmhouse Styled Ale is a most delicious companion to a loaf of freshly baked bread from the oven. Grab a seat on the porch, some soft cheese and a tree ripened apple from your grandmother's old orchard. Relax and watch the evening arrive as the afternoon sun is consumed by the illuminating moon over the gardens. We brewed Avant Garde for you, our friends and families. Here's to things worth guarding over. http://www.lostabbey.com

Purchased from West Lakeview Liquors in Chicago. Pours a murkey pale gold color, with white frothy head. Aroma of lemon, sweet yeasty bread. Taste of sweet bread, lemon, and coriander. Crisp carbonated mouthfeel. Very tasty!

Pours a murky honey color. 1.5" head in tulip glass. A little more bitter than I like and not as sweet as I prefer for a beer like this. Still nice though

Fruity with notes of peach and apricot. I thought this was very good for the style and something i will definitely have again.

Sourdough, limes, and pepper on the nose. Iridescent orange/amber color, thick foamy head. Chewy crackers, some honey biscuit sweetness, slight funky sweaty bitter bite. Big carbonation, full body. but not too heavy in the mouth. Bold finish with some alcohol warmth. Great textures, flavors, very well put together beer--excellent.

Hazy ornage color, white head. Sweet malty and fruity hoppy scent. Roasted, dry, malty, harsh, alcohol taste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, with a grape peel dry finish. Dry medium high bitterness. Coconut aftertaste.

lands on a great part of the toungue, but doesn’t stick aorund it too long. Fizzy, crisp, refreshing, like and orange flavored belgian witbier- a little sweeter. Thanks Beershine and Oakes.

Bottle (75 cl) from Ölbutikken. Shady deep golden to amber, meidum white head. Earthy and fruity malt aroma, with notes of oranges, apricots and yeast. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Well balanced with a mellow start and a dry finish with moderate bitterness. The best Biere de Garde I´ve had.
