Commercial Description:
From the French word "Garde" meaning something worth keeping, this Farmhouse Styled Ale is a most delicious companion to a loaf of freshly baked bread from the oven. Grab a seat on the porch, some soft cheese and a tree ripened apple from your grandmother's old orchard. Relax and watch the evening arrive as the afternoon sun is consumed by the illuminating moon over the gardens. We brewed Avant Garde for you, our friends and families. Here's to things worth guarding over. http://www.lostabbey.com

Pours a cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma of fruit, spice, yeast. Taste is also spice and fruit with some earthy hops and malt. Great Thanksgiving beer. Finish is dry. Body is pretty carbonated. Nice beer.

Hazy deep gold pour with a foamy white head. Spicy peppery aroma with hints of honey and fruit. Slightly sweet, very spicy flavor. A bit of fruit and yeast. Medium body. Good brew.

750ml caged and corked bottle. Very outdoorsy aroma. Grass, hay and dry leaves. Dry and dusty yeast, bread dough and a small whimper of caramel malt. Loads of grassy and earthy hops as the beer opens. Pours a bright and slightly hazy orange with a very thin ring of a white head. Crisp and slightly chalky on the palate. Slightly tart. Very bready, earthy and grassy. Crisp and refreshing. Medium bodied, creamy with delicate carbonation. Nothing really flawed here, but nothing worth shouting about. A fine summer beer, though. Thanks Craig!

Amber colored with not too much head. Apple, nutmeg, other fruits, and fruit punch in the smell. Taste has some alcohol, fruit, apple, some spices. Pretty good.

Thanks to my Secret Santa for the is brew, had it as my Christmas afternoon beer. Hazy orange copper pour with a thin tan head. Musty, grainy, citrus aroma. Smooth malt taste with a citrus hop bitterness. A wonderfully relaxing farmhouse ale.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Nice 1/2 finger creamy small bubble head that dies to coat the surface. Cloudy orange color. A tad more toward the sweet side than the hoppy side. Generally low hoppiness. My nose isn’t skilled enought tosmell anything.
