COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the French word "Garde" meaning something worth keeping, this Farmhouse Styled Ale is a most delicious companion to a loaf of freshly baked bread from the oven. Grab a seat on the porch, some soft cheese and a tree ripened apple from your grandmother's old orchard. Relax and watch the evening arrive as the afternoon sun is consumed by the illuminating moon over the gardens. We brewed Avant Garde for you, our friends and families. Here's to things worth guarding over. http://www.lostabbey.com

Clear honey color with a small head that reduces to a ring around the edges. Pear, honey, floral, cotton candy aroma, with just a bit of alcahol heat. Bready, slighty spicey, honey, sweet flavor with a little bite in the finish. Medium body with slightly fizzy carbonation.

750ml bottle, thanks to DanielCoor for sharing. Hazy golden orange color. Thin white head, some decent lace. Smooth, lighter crisp carbonation. Bigger body. Light, toasty, lightly wheaty, light spicy aroma. Light zesty, light citrusy taste. Light sweet. Alright biere de garde

Bottle shared thanks to Tim and Rachel! Pours a hazy golden orange with fluffy white head that disappeared to thin cap. Aroma of light yeast, grainy malt, slight citrus, all faint, so not too positive. Taste is kind of like a pseudo Belgian IPA, slightly earthy. Not sure how I feel about it, balanced and easy to drink, nothing crazy though.

Tasty ale. However it wasn’t outstanding. Nothing stood out. I paired with a pulled pork maybe the pairing hindered me ale

750 ml bottle to snifter (thanks DanielCoor). Looks good; a hazy orange with white lacing. Smells solid; sweatband yeasty with some citrus. Tastes like it smells, only blander, and without the citrus. Average on the palate. Decent, but nothing special.

Bottle corked and caged shared by Ryan, thanks for sharing, poured a light cloudy orangish color with aromas of light lemon, hay, some dill and a touch of light funk. Flavors were the same, light mustiness in the aftertaste, a solid beer.

Bottle courtesy of StefanSD. Clean juicy lemony-orange-pineapple and light yeasty aroma. Cloudy straw gold with a large white head, moderate lacing. Lightly sweet citrus, bready malt, and spice flavor with a hint of a grassy bitter finish. Light crisp body, moderate carbonation. Very refreshing, highly sessionable.
