4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Enjoyed on tap at FOBAB. Served in my FOBAB taster.
A: Pours a dark black color with a very dark tan head forming on the pour. It recedes slowly to a thick ring that leaves some splotchy lace.
S: Huge notes of fresh coffee bean, chocolate, roasted malts and espresso. There is a faint barrel smell in the background, but this is heavily dominated by the coffee and chocolate.
T: The taste follows the nose with a more roasted malt presence and touch more barrel. Vanilla espresso, freshly ground coffee beans, milk chocolate and roasted malts. Some light oak with just a kiss of bourbon. Booze is hidden extremely well.
M: Medium low carbonation with a heavy mouthfeel. Decadent and creamy.
O: While this beer was lacking the in your face bourbon barrel we’ve all come to love I think this limited barrel actually worked with this beer. It made the coffee and cocoa flavors the stars of the show. I’d love to try this again.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, thick black pour with deep mocha head. Aroma is oak, chocolate fudge, vanilla, and coffee roast, this smells great. Taste is oak, vanilla, fudge, and coffee. Incrediblely good aroma, this is one very decadent beer, wonderful balance between the base beer and all the other stuff they have added to this.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle via trade with BHensonB shared with Paul. Pours a deep blackish brown body with thin tan lacing. Super dark, oily body. Mouthfeel is medium to full-bodied with notes of rich, chocolate brownie, melted fudge and severe alcohol burn in the finish. This would be absolutely killer if it didn’t feel like vodka on the palate towards the end.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours near black with a beige head. Rich coffee and chocolate sweetness, faint roasted malts, very mild bourbon, and a sweet espresso finish. Pretty good, maybe just a touch too sweet.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at mikkeller bar viktoriagade.
Coffee, chocolate, can feel the alcohol in the aroma from barrel aging, not from being a strong beer.
Black, with Brown head. Medium to heavy sweet. Medium bitter. Tons of coffee.
Full body. Very long finish. Real good. You can feel the alcohol, but it is somehow balanced with the flavours. Impressing.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale brown head clings to edge of snifter
dig the label artwork
As it warms I get smoky wood aromas, nose dive 5th heaven trace the barrel
coffee and bourbon on the palete, along with brown sugar, coffee on the back, alcohol bum
medium body is frothy/fizzy. Wait, is that not an interesting combo? not the most intriguing component here
not as heavy as a few others I’ve had the pleasure to have known in this realm but a good track
