On tap at Lost Abbey’s 4th Anniversary party. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is a little roast and booze. No less than 8 bourbon barrels and 2 port barrels in the brewery, so I suspect there will be some released in bottles in the future, or at least blended with other stuff. Not sweet or dry. Thick body. Mellowed a little from the barrel aging. Pretty good.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Kenneth for this obscurity. Pours deep brown with a foamy tan head. Meaty burnt malts in the nose, chocolate, dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with more dark fruits, burnt toffee, alcohol, wood, berries and leather. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with rich brownies, baking cocoa, wood, ash, more leathery dark fruits. Excellent.

Bottle split at Jack The Sipper leaves for the FBI again tasting, thanks to Kenny, 14/07/15. Black topped with a decent tan covering. Nose is charr, rich roasted notes, bourbonic tunes, light wood, chocoalte, tar. Taste comprises dark fruit shreds, light spice, raisens, chocolate. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. A touch boozey but a solid enough impy.

Farewell Jack bottleshare at Craft Clerkenwell. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is comparatively light with modest fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, mild spice. Nice touch of dark chocolate. Fruity bourbon. Light finish. Nicely aged but still with some kick.

Bottle big thanks to 18K Kenny It pours jet black with a small tan head. The nose is really rather rich, juicy, big sweet bourbon character, vanilla, apple pie, pear, pepper, dried fruits and caramelised sugars. The taste is smooth, rich roast, coffee, cocoa, plum, date, jammy blackcurrant, warming alcohol and some peppery spice throughout with a smooth finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Punchy and warming. Pretty decent stuff.

Bottle share at CBC Clerkenwell, thanks to Colin. Pink wax, hand written ’label’, 2011 vintage. Black, small brown head. Aroma has vanilla bourbon, alcohol, floral with some musty spice. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is tangy, sweet and fruity with vanilla, treacle, dark fruits, a little acidic sherry. Dry finish with some alcohol. I liked this one.

Bottle @ The Clerkenwell Share. Thanks to whoever provided this rarity. Deep brown pour with a small head. Peppered wood and sweet/hot bourbon character. Toffee creams. Coffee. Taste has some hints of balsamic acidity. Coffee and cocoa. Tangy red fruit accents abound. Light vanilla. Interesting signs of age. Full body, rich. Decent.

Pours like motor oil. Pretty nice nose of chocolate and malt. The palate has outstanding feel and creaminess. Good stout.

This is old but I think they age well. Black pour with a ton of brown creamy head. Roasty flavor. Chipotle and cocoa blend with a sense pallet. Big but hides the ABV well. Yummy
