COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Late in November of 2011, Mike Rodriguez our head brewer asked about creating a Coffee and Cacoa Nib version of Serpent’s Stout for the San Diego Strong Ale Festival. The beer was a hit with our fans. When we wrote up the syllabus for the Ultimate Box Set, we knew a version of this beer would be included. We waited until the very end of the release schedule to put this beer in a bottle so that the coffee and cacoa nibs really come through. Four Bourbon barrels were selected for their rich and dense chocolate flavors. One week before packaging, we added 17 lbs of Ryan Brothers Coffee and 4 lbs of TCHO Cacao Nibs were added to the coffee and cacao to steep before packaging.

Clownoisseur (420) - Buchanan, Michigan, USA - AUG 16, 2016
Bottle split 2 ways. Pours nearly opaque, thin brown head that fades to a thin ring. Very oily in appearance with a bit of a bourbon hue to the edges. Aromas of Bourbon-soaked oak, wet oak, light cocoa, light coffee, dark fruits - raisins, dried plum/ Taste follows the nose with cocoa/coffee upfront, but working though oak accents and dried fruit, toffee, vanilla, earth, most soil, molasses and raisin. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Solid Imperial Stout

TET (2591) - Kaarina, FINLAND - AUG 14, 2016
A black beer, a head is small and light brown. Aroma has roastiness, riped fruitness, some salt liquirice, notes of barrels and alcohol are quite strong. Taste has chocolate, roastiness of coffee, some fruitness notes of alcohol, quite much of sweetness. Almost full boides, low carbonation, not stickyness. Maybe slightly too dominating barrel aging. Anyway, tasteful beer.
