At a Glance The Beer: A fresh track, Track 8 is a spicy monster ó A base of Judgment Day aged in freshly emptied bourbon barrels then spiked with liberal additions of cinnamon stick and dried chili pepper. ABV: 13.7% Released: August 18, 2012 Liner Notes Weíve never released a Bourbon Barrel version of our Judgment Day. So we thought it might be interesting to take the base beer for Cuvee de Tomme age in first fill Bourbon Barrels and let mother nature take over. Of course, because this is a Rock and Roll inspired Box Set beer, we couldnít just leave well enough alone. Upon sampling the base beer, it became apparent that the raisins used to brew the base beer were going to drive the flavor bus of this beer. The conversations turned to Oatmeal Raisin cookies and the essence of a freshly baked treat. So we added some cinnamon sticks to the barrels and threw in some dried chiles as well. At 13.70 ABV this beer has amazing depth of flavor and presents a unique drinking experience for consumers who may be seeking enlightenment on Judgment Day.

Bottle at LA. Clear medium dark red and a one finger beige head, low retention. Big bourbon cinnamon vanilla nose. Dark fruits and sweet caramel toffee also present. Flavor follows, not super sweet, actually. Lots of bourbon, some chili heat does rise in the back of the throat. Dry finish, bitterness at a 2. Alcohol heat letís you know itís strong. Full body, low carbonation. Very very tasty. 8-4-9-4-17

Bottle shared. 500ml corked. Pours dark brown with tan head. Head reduces. Huge rum, raisin, alcohol notes. Flavour is raisin sweet with bourbon and plenty of heat on the way down. Low carbonation with a bang on the finish. Think this is a beer to have on its own. Different.

Extremely bold and aggressive. This one is a combination of a Snicker Doodle, Oatmeal Raisin cookie, fudge, and Hot Tamales! Add a shot of bourbon weíre in business! Hint of capsaicin, rich vanilla and dough, dark fruit, cocoa dust, and molasses. Thick, coating, and chewy. Nicely done.

Bevmo bottle that I really should have checked the price tag on. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma of dark malt, syrup and molasses. The flavor definitely has the raisins but I donít get much spice from the cinnamon or chiles; it might linger a little in the finish. The almost 14 ABV is well hidden.

Poured into a tulip from a bottle. Dark brown pour with tan head. Nose is spice, coconut, cinnamon. Flavor is heavy coconut, spice, booze. A bit too sweet for my tastes but very complex.

Itís dark brown with a small tan head. Fairly fizzy. Just some scattered bubbles that fade pretty quickly. The aroma is fairly boozy. Thereís caramel, raisin, chocolate, cherry, milder earthy flavors. Cinnamon is still apparent, though restrained, and the chile is pretty weak. Solid bourbon bite. Mild oak. The taste is very much in line with the oatmeal cookie description. though itís more of an oatmeal cookie dipped in bourbon. Lots of vanilla, caramel and more fruit than in the nose. Big sweetness. Itís bigger on cherries than raisins for me. Some chile heat in the finish. Kinda flabby and boozy but charming in its own way. Slick, full and smooth on the palate. Pretty sticky. Lots of heat. I sorta like it, but I donít want much.

12.7 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Black with just over a finger of bubbly light tan head. Aromas of bourbon, dark fruit, some booze, hint of chiles. Tastes of bourbon, cherries, dark fruit, vanilla, spice. Medium body with a dry finish. Low carbonation. For 13.7% ABV, itís pretty damn smooth.
