At a Glance The Beer: A fresh track, Track 8 is a spicy monster — A base of Judgment Day aged in freshly emptied bourbon barrels then spiked with liberal additions of cinnamon stick and dried chili pepper. ABV: 13.7% Released: August 18, 2012 Liner Notes We’ve never released a Bourbon Barrel version of our Judgment Day. So we thought it might be interesting to take the base beer for Cuvee de Tomme age in first fill Bourbon Barrels and let mother nature take over. Of course, because this is a Rock and Roll inspired Box Set beer, we couldn’t just leave well enough alone. Upon sampling the base beer, it became apparent that the raisins used to brew the base beer were going to drive the flavor bus of this beer. The conversations turned to Oatmeal Raisin cookies and the essence of a freshly baked treat. So we added some cinnamon sticks to the barrels and threw in some dried chiles as well. At 13.70 ABV this beer has amazing depth of flavor and presents a unique drinking experience for consumers who may be seeking enlightenment on Judgment Day.

Bottle at LA. Clear medium dark red and a one finger beige head, low retention. Big bourbon cinnamon vanilla nose. Dark fruits and sweet caramel toffee also present. Flavor follows, not super sweet, actually. Lots of bourbon, some chili heat does rise in the back of the throat. Dry finish, bitterness at a 2. Alcohol heat let’s you know it’s strong. Full body, low carbonation. Very very tasty. 8-4-9-4-17

Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA (purchased by my glorious wife). Aroma is rum cake, booze-soaked raisins, oatmeal cookies. Taste is rich, dark fruited, boozy breads. This is a thick, punishing pudding of a dessert beer.

Bourbon soaked raisin bread. Really nice, wish it had a little more mouthfeel. Incredible taste, nonetheless

Flaska från Craftbeer/Galatea. Smak och doft av fina och komplexa smaker av bourbon, rom-russin, kanel och lagom mängd chili. Väl dold alkohol, kraftull, lagom sötma, välbalanserad och fantastisk god!

Nose is oatmeal raisin cookie, vanilla, sticky toffee pudding. Flavor is same plus milk chocolate, moderate barrel presence, some heat from the chilies. All flavors present are balanced really nicely.

Wonderful on the tongue this is the bottle you should let age after a while. Pours a tan head that dissipates over time.

Bottle. Pours out a muddy brown color with a small off white head. Aroma is of dried fruits, sweet sugary syrup, some alcohol and light earthy pepper; no real tell of spice on the aroma. Taste is complex, dried dark fruits, syrup, cinnamon sugar, oak, booze, light pepper. Overall abv was every well hidden.

Amazing that I didn?t know what was being served and the first thing I said was how much raisin flavor there is. Sweet sugary smell deep ripe almost spoiled fruit scent. Slight heat from chili but not very harsh. Light spices for cinnamon, but very good all around. Bourbon is done correctly. Not overt the top, just a nice touch. Bottle
