COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At a Glance The Beer: A fresh track, Track 8 is a spicy monster ó A base of Judgment Day aged in freshly emptied bourbon barrels then spiked with liberal additions of cinnamon stick and dried chili pepper. ABV: 13.7% Released: August 18, 2012 Liner Notes Weíve never released a Bourbon Barrel version of our Judgment Day. So we thought it might be interesting to take the base beer for Cuvee de Tomme age in first fill Bourbon Barrels and let mother nature take over. Of course, because this is a Rock and Roll inspired Box Set beer, we couldnít just leave well enough alone. Upon sampling the base beer, it became apparent that the raisins used to brew the base beer were going to drive the flavor bus of this beer. The conversations turned to Oatmeal Raisin cookies and the essence of a freshly baked treat. So we added some cinnamon sticks to the barrels and threw in some dried chiles as well. At 13.70 ABV this beer has amazing depth of flavor and presents a unique drinking experience for consumers who may be seeking enlightenment on Judgment Day.

Sampled from the tap at FOBAB 2012. Pours a near clear deep amber with a brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of cinnamon and chillies with some backing sweet grains and bourbon. Flavor is again heavily spiced with some raisins and sweet grains backed by bourbon. Spice became overwhelming.

Bottled. Pours hazy, mahogany with medium sized beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, wood, bourbon, spices and over ripe fruits. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with some chili notes and alcohol. Full bodied, syrup texture and flat carbonation. A very nice an complex Quad.

Bottle from a secret spot and pretty expensive considering the size but whatever. Definite plum and raisin aroma with a touch of pepper spice. Sticky sweet and lots of dark fruit flavors. Hot pepper burn on the back end of the palate. Not getting too much cinnamon. Vanilla and wood are there though from the barrel. A pretty good drink. Very complex very diverse and all working together pretty well.

16.9 oz. cc bottle that I was amazed to find at Whole Foods Plymouth. Poured turbid chestnut, looking deep brown through direct light, with 2-finger khaki head. Nose is prunes, raisins, brown sugar, heavy bourbon, oak, and bready malt. Tastes complex, with notes of oaky bourbon, raisins, cinnamon, brown sugar, berries, figs, and spirits. Finishes complex, with more fruity tartness.

375 c&c from Bine & Vine. Pours dark brown with a fizzy/creamy tan head. Aroma of cinnamon and dark fruits. Med body or so. Fizzy carbonation. Flavor is cinnamon, probably raisin, and plummy darkness. Itís rather unusual, but Iím liking it. Not particularly getting chili, and the bourbon is present but rather restrained. Whatís most surprising is that the heat really doesnít hit until it goes down the gullet - burn in the esophagus perhaps, but not in the mouth. Pretty tasty, and - well itís certainly tasty. My creative descriptability just ran dry.

Pours opaque black with a fizzy light tan head. Smells of cinnamon, dark fruits, bourbon and raisins. Delicious smelling beer. Bourbon, raisins and cinnamon all mix well with the smoothness of a well brewed quad. Absolutely delicious. A little boozy on the back end, but thatís expected with a 13.8% beer. Wonderful carbonation followed by a heavy thickness that Iím quite the fan of. Yeah..this is a good one. Well worth the price. Great bourbon character, yet the quad side of it doesnít slack at all. Itís a monster.

375ml bottle pours a murky, mahogany brown with some creamy, beige head. Nose has prunes, dried cherry, clove, candy sugar, fruit cake, raisin. Flavor is malty, fruit cake, the chile is throughout with some heat and raisin, prunes, dates, clove, a little chapstick. Sticky, spicy finish.

Thanks to errl for sharing this bottle. Dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma has some heavy cinnamon and chili pepper notes that I am really digging. The flavor is a mix of heavy cinnamon, heat from the peppers and something that tastes just like oatmeal raisin cookies. This tastes like a mole beer that was dry hopped with oatmeal raisin cookies. Very tasty overall. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Glad I got to try it.

12.7oz bottle. Opened to a very loud pop. Poured a dark brown color with an off white head. Woody, bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, chilies, some roast, and some dark chocolates. Not overly cinnamon spice or overly chili hot (but both present. Overall alcohol content hidden.

500 bottle, Dark Brown pour. Big Cedar wood nose with Bourbon. Up front Bourbon and chocolate raisins, followed by cinnamon, with chile peppers in the background. Well blended and smooth. some burn in the finish. I like the analogy of a Oatmeal Raisin cookie.
