COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At a Glance The Beer: A fresh track, Track 8 is a spicy monster — A base of Judgment Day aged in freshly emptied bourbon barrels then spiked with liberal additions of cinnamon stick and dried chili pepper. ABV: 13.7% Released: August 18, 2012 Liner Notes We’ve never released a Bourbon Barrel version of our Judgment Day. So we thought it might be interesting to take the base beer for Cuvee de Tomme age in first fill Bourbon Barrels and let mother nature take over. Of course, because this is a Rock and Roll inspired Box Set beer, we couldn’t just leave well enough alone. Upon sampling the base beer, it became apparent that the raisins used to brew the base beer were going to drive the flavor bus of this beer. The conversations turned to Oatmeal Raisin cookies and the essence of a freshly baked treat. So we added some cinnamon sticks to the barrels and threw in some dried chiles as well. At 13.70 ABV this beer has amazing depth of flavor and presents a unique drinking experience for consumers who may be seeking enlightenment on Judgment Day.

Sampled from the tap at FOBAB 2012. Pours a near clear deep amber with a brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of cinnamon and chillies with some backing sweet grains and bourbon. Flavor is again heavily spiced with some raisins and sweet grains backed by bourbon. Spice became overwhelming.

Pours dark dark brown but pools into black with zero head. The nose is as they intended. Oatmeal raisin cookies. Vanilla, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, dates, light chocolate. The taste is high sweet and low bitter with a sweet aftertaste. The texture is soft and smooth with some nice alcohol warming and a small bite in the back of the throat from the chili. The body is heavy with a long finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy of Vincent. Pours a deep black with little head. Nose of cinnamon, vanilla, bourbon. Taste like a snickerdoodle but I get the oatmeal cookie comparison. I didn’t get much of the heat or pepper flavor. But this is really delicious. Thanks for sharing Vin

Bottle with bill and tom, pours purple black with light head. Aromas and taste of oatmeal cookie, vanilla bean, booze, barrel, subdued chili, bourbon and hops. Medium body, Lots of flavor. As it warmed the pepper and heat came out. Lots of cinnamon stick and ginger bread, heat creeps. Awesome.

Smells like a cinnamon chocolate stout. Seriously, cinnamon galore! Kinda flat, but that's ok. This tastes like a cinnamon-sugar churro. Seriously. And I fucking love churros.

Bottle... This beer rocks!... Brown pour with a mahogany hue and a small, quickly dissipating, off-white head. The aroma is a lush blend of Amaretto, milk chocolate, fresh-sticky vanilla beans and a fantastic, but not overbearing, cinnamon component. Full-bodied and creamy with tickling carbonation. The flavor is a wonderful swirl of sweet chocolate, coconut and roasted pistachios with plenty of cinnamon and vanilla in the finish. Nothing not to love here!

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a fleeting white head. Cinnamon and vanilla nose. Kinda watery with muted chilled, cinnamon, and vanilla lowlights.

Bottle pours with a light mahogany hued body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up cinnamon, molasses, ginger and chocolate with a solid ginger bread cookie sensation too. The taste is very Christmas like with cinnamon covered ginger bread cookie. It then gets into some coconut and bourbon booze notes into the finish. Nice stuff.

Bottle shared at the Santa Cruz boxset tasting. Aroma is basically apple cinnamon oatmeal. Flavor is massive cinnamon/goldschlager with a mild chili zestiness. Too heavy on the spice.
