on tap at bigwood 07’ at brouwers, I’m not the biggest fan of sour beers but this one extremely unique, definetley one of kind. Very dark color and very sour with hints of wine flavors. Maybe just a little too funky for me, tasted like a wild ale. Extremely complex, like a flavor explosion in my mouth. Glad I got to try this rare beer.

Sampled @ Bigwood 2007 - pours a hazy orange cream color with a small white head. Rich textured aroma, that I just want to sniff for awhile before tasting. Chocolate covered cherries, with some sour cherries, but not overpowering. This was a very good choice for the 1st beer of the event. Very well balanced, all the flavors worked very well together.

draft @ bigwood fest - pours thick and dark with decent cream head; strong aromas of chocolate, cherry and spices; rich and thick texture with full flavors of cherry, malts and sugar; perfect amount of sourness; at the right place at the right time and pretty cool to get a crack at a unique and special brew

Tap at Brouwers’ Bigwood fest ’07.

Smooth, luxurient, deep dark pour. Amazing, amazing nose - huge spiced raisin aroma, roasty chocolate, hints of sour. The flavor is delicious as well: sweet with plum and cherry, again raisin, only gently sour, again sweet chocolate coming to the forefront, smooth mouthfeel.

Another Lost Abbey winner.

Very dark brown, almost black with medium frothy head. Sour cherry aroma with a bit of oak and spice. Taste is deep, sour cherry with a little bourbon. Pretty thick with just enough sourness and a touch of funk. A little bit of chocolate. Very complex....the mix worked very well.
