3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 mL bottle poured at Brouwers. It’s their party, figured I would stick to the theme. Always enjoy a beer that came out.before I could.legally drink it. Bright orange pour with a patchy fizz head. Huge aroma of Brett and orange fruit. Flavor continues the trend, with citrus, orange, and a dry, cool finish. One of a kind beer. Very good.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle pour at Brouwer’s anniversary 11th, thanks Andrew for this one any time I get to try a lost Abbey. Light golden pour, Brett season aroma very smooth from a beer that is 8 years old,

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml 2008 bottle. Consumed just a couple weeks ago so obviously way past its prime. This one poured a hazy golden orange color with a small whispy off white of foam at the head to that quickly fades into the body below. The aroma shows quite a bit of oxidation to go with musty, citrus fruits, mild, bretty funk, pale malts, and some yeast esters. The flavor follows and shows pale malts, dried, musty citrus fruit, old oak, and some bretty funk to go with all the oxidation. Notes of stale bread, yeast, and sweet esters also come out as well. Medium bodied with barely any carbonation that leads to a musty, citrusy, and light funk finish. This one is dead and a far cry from what it was originally. I obviously sat on this one way too long, which is a shame. I hate to even give this a score as it doesn’t do any justice to when this was fresh. The Brett has all but died out at this point. Still glad I got to try it.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled during Bengals Tailgate 12/13/15. Thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing. 2008 bottle… Hazy golden orange color. Thin off-white head. Not much lace sticks. Up front, some oxidization in the nose, but it’s not as bad as you’d expect. A bit musty, kind of basementy. Touch of white grape. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Mild slick. OK to try, but certainly past it’s prime.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle shared by alexsdad06- thanks again, Brad! Pours a hazy fruit juice color with a small white head that settles into a ring. Notes of bread, dried apricot and peac, vanilla, sugars, esters, stale cereal, and hay. Light-medium bodied, with low carbonation and a sweet, muddled mouthfeel. Not sure what it used to be but it was probably much better before. It’s not bad now, just old as hell.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear dark amber color with an average frothy white head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Medium yeast, wood and west coast hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet & sour flavor with a medium sour & sweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle shared with the group. Pours a hazy golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have quite a bit of oxidation at this point, pale malts, hints of sweet malts, mild funk, light Brett character, gets a bit better as I continued drinking, I buried this in the cellar and forgot about it, I will combine with notes from when this was fresh.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Brouwer’s, shared by beastie. Pours clear pale with white head. Bottle pops but doesn’t gush or remain flat (victory in itself). Aroma: not as rad as Avery 15. Old for sure, stale hops and rotting overripe fruit / prunes, but also not completely gross. Some tropical, some caramel. Seems to have held up well.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2014-08-16. Hazy pale orange body with a small white head. 3+ Aroma is sweet with light fruity character, pale malt and light caramel accents. Flavour is lightly fruity over moderate sweet malt base, light yeast. Smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Enjoyable but slightly muddled and I suspect simpler than when it was fresh.
