For centuries Venetians lightened the dark of winter with an elaborate upending of social order. In donning a disguise for Carnevale, for one night a pauper could become a prince, a learned man a fool, a proper lady a passionate lover...and no one would be the wiser. This beer is our tribute to that grand celebration of the unexpected. A Saison-style blonde ale with American hops and... well, thats all you really need to know. Now put on your mask, raise your glass, and toast to the magic of a winter’s night mystery. Le Carnevale!

Editors’ Note: this beer has not been produced since 2008 and DOES NOT CONTAIN BRETT, all bottles produced after maybe rated on the Carnevale 2009+ entry.

Bottle thanks to Andrew. Poured hazy golden yellow with little head that retained. Nice spicy, floral yeast notes with little bit of grain flavours in the finish. Very enjoyable. Slight alcoholic finish.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Plain malty base, light sweetness, hints of fruit, toast, and a quick muted finish. Not bad for its age.

Bottle. 25.4 oz. Pours clean orange golden, with a thin, wispy, lacy white head. Aroma of corriander, sage, clove, lemon zest, slight funk, and traces of yeast. Medium bodied with a mildly spicy, crisp, refreshingly smooth and thirst-quenching palate. Finishes a bit dry and florally. Excellent saison.

Auction winner. This is solid just like the everything else they make. Nice dark fruit and plum taste with belgian spice and bread. A pleasant sweet, sugary aroma. Really good!

Thanks to kiefdog for bringing this one to the tasting. Pours hazy yellow with white head. Nose is citrus, booze, hay, slight funk, brett, and some fruity notes. Flavor is the same with a mild brett presence, and funk. Sweetness, apple, pepper, yeast, and more sweetness give this beer a nice summer evening feel. Medium bodied and very enjoyable for a brett-spiked beer.

Bought about a month ago but it does not say 2009 on the label and there is nothing about brett on it at all. So I assume this is the right rating. It pours a bright yellow with a white foam head, smell of yeast and lots of flowers. The beer is filled with yeasty tastes along with a bit of fruit punch in there. Very wild mix. good offering
