COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American hopped saison.

Editor’s note: The 2009+ versions are spiked with Brett at bottling. Bottles from 2009 are marked as such, although 2010 and 2011 bottles appear to not note the vintage on the label, but might be printed on the neck or base.

750 ml bomber. Yellow in color with sustained 2 finger head practically the whole cup full. Mild spice, clove, grass and other earth things, banana, lemon/orange peel, grapefruit, or I could just say fruit salad. But it isn’t too sugary or too fruity. Duration is medium. Medium bubbles. Good texture. Solid brew

A yellow beer with a soapy and big bubbled, blond head. The head is decreasing to normal and medium. The nose is fruitfull, spicy, some sweet fruits, also some unfamiliar citrusfruits. Taste is strongly spicy, fruits, sourness and citrusfruits. Medium bodied, slightly sparkling and fresh carbonation. Strong and spicy saison. Good but not a brilliant.

Hazy golden orange with a foamy white head and moderate lace. Aromas of citrus - mostly orange -, yeast, banana, and floral hops. Some barnyard funk accompanies a modestly sweet malt profile that includes orange rind and floral hop bitterness. Medium to full body, brightly carbonated, soft and smooth and slightly slick mouthfeel, and a bright brett finish.

Bottle. Straw golden with a dark hue. Aroma is yeasty with spice, and wheat. The taste adds some earthy hops and a sweet finish. The carb is very high which adds to the complexity. This is a very nice, refreshing saison. Good stuff ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at share from Dan. Thanks! Pours an orange-yellow with a thin white head that lasted for about 60 seconds. Slight lacing. Overall aroma was light citrus, apple, pear, and kiwi fruits with a funkiness. Also some bread and spices. The taste is rather fruity with citrus (lemon, orange, pear, and apples), funk, yeasts and bread/cereal. Very easy drinking light body. Moderate to heavy carbonation. Finish is crisp, fruity, and clean with fruit and funk.

Transfer from BA review on 3-30-12 - Served in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance – An orange colored body with a light haze. Upon serving there was a light white head. The head faded fast giving away to a very light amount of lacing. Smell- The smell is the funky aroma expected with a bit of bitter and astringency, but also has some sweeter lemon citrus and tropical fruit aromas. Lemon, orange, a light pineapple and banana are detected and are mixed with a nice yeasty and malty base. Taste- The taste follows the nose quite well. It has a citrus taste upfront. It is sweeter at first and sours up a bit as the taste advances on. Toward the end of the taste the presence of the yeast becomes more pronounced and with the souring flavor leaves a rather interesting aftertaste in the mouth. Not bad. Mouthfeel – The mouthfeel is fairly average overall. It has a somewhat creamy body with a medium level of carbonation. Pretty standard. Overall – Not bad. It got some nice spiciness and flavors. Well worth a try.
