American hopped saison.

Editor’s note: The 2009+ versions are spiked with Brett at bottling. Bottles from 2009 are marked as such, although 2010 and 2011 bottles appear to not note the vintage on the label, but might be printed on the neck or base.

Bottle at share from Dan. Thanks! Pours an orange-yellow with a thin white head that lasted for about 60 seconds. Slight lacing. Overall aroma was light citrus, apple, pear, and kiwi fruits with a funkiness. Also some bread and spices. The taste is rather fruity with citrus (lemon, orange, pear, and apples), funk, yeasts and bread/cereal. Very easy drinking light body. Moderate to heavy carbonation. Finish is crisp, fruity, and clean with fruit and funk.

Transfer from BA review on 3-30-12 - Served in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance – An orange colored body with a light haze. Upon serving there was a light white head. The head faded fast giving away to a very light amount of lacing. Smell- The smell is the funky aroma expected with a bit of bitter and astringency, but also has some sweeter lemon citrus and tropical fruit aromas. Lemon, orange, a light pineapple and banana are detected and are mixed with a nice yeasty and malty base. Taste- The taste follows the nose quite well. It has a citrus taste upfront. It is sweeter at first and sours up a bit as the taste advances on. Toward the end of the taste the presence of the yeast becomes more pronounced and with the souring flavor leaves a rather interesting aftertaste in the mouth. Not bad. Mouthfeel – The mouthfeel is fairly average overall. It has a somewhat creamy body with a medium level of carbonation. Pretty standard. Overall – Not bad. It got some nice spiciness and flavors. Well worth a try.

Thanks to caesar for sharing. Hazy golden colored, white head. Spicy nose, yeasty, some orange perhaps. Spicy and yeasty flavor, some dryness, some brett. Pretty good, although not very outspoken.

Pours a light golden with rocky head and lots of sediment. Nose is Belgian yeast, fruit ester, orange peel, a big spiced. Taste is tons of Belgian yeast, a bit of yeasty spice, fruit ester, a bit sweet up front, very bready, dry on the finish. Not much of that barnyard funk , yeast is very strong. A bit thick on the mouthfeel for a saison, high carb as would be expected. It's good, not great, very yeasty but missing that saison funk and complexity that I want. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled from biergenot.be, couldnt find a bottling date, medium sample. Slight hazy golden color, medium frothy white head. Aroma is slight spicy, some bubblegum, citrus, hint of barnyard. Soft bitterness, hint of lemony sourness, bit dry. Like a Bretted saison but with some quite noticeable citrussy notes. Nice, but Brett could have been more outspoken for me.

Draft pour. Pours a nice golden with a nice, cloudy head. Citrus, fruit, and spice aroma. Lemon citrus flavors with a nice spice finish. Another solid beer from lost abbey, though this one kinda stood out from the others. Good beer.

Golden yellow, cloudy pour with a white, assertive head. Bitter up front, a bit grassy in the middle and drops off with a furtive finish. Waiting for something funky, finding very little. Would I drink again? Maybe. Would I order again? No.
