COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American hopped saison.

Editor’s note: The 2009+ versions are spiked with Brett at bottling. Bottles from 2009 are marked as such, although 2010 and 2011 bottles appear to not note the vintage on the label, but might be printed on the neck or base.

Keg at Lost Abbey/Port tasting room, 18/04/14. Lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white swirl and edgework. Nose is straw, bitter lemon, light brett snap, yeast esters, spice, pepper. Taste comprises orange peel, tarte tropicana, spice, hay, light bretty funk. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough brett infused saison but not a whole lot of depth.

Bottle from Olbutikken in Copenhagen & shared at Takatsuki Jazz Street. Served in a mini-tulip glass. A crystal clear light gold with a thick eggshell white head that has stating power. Earthy, funky that includes citrus & catpiss notes. Light bodied with a zesty feathery mouthfeel. The taste is classic saison, earthy funky, some metallic Brett notes, lemony citrus and an exceptionally dry finish. This bottle was at least a year old but still pretty damn good, it held up well.

Draft at craft ale house. Pours golden with an inch of white foam. Leaves a bit of lacing in the glass. Has a bit of pineapple on the tongue. Nice flavor definitely get the barnyard funk. Finishes clean. Another nice entry from lost abbey.

On tap @ Bambino’s. Pours hazy bright golden yellow with thick white head. Aroma is lightly sweet pale malt and fresh earthy barnyard flavors that fill your nose; coriander really jumps out. Taste is clean pale malt, faint tart notes, with sharply crisp finish. Dry lightly spicy peppery flavors linger. Simple light refreshing beer; very easy drinking.

Tap at hops and pie. Hazy gold with a thin white head that laces. Aromas of citrus, lemon, spice light yeast and pine. Flavor is citrus, spice, yeast, and the tiniest bit of funk. Medium bodied, dry and slightly bitter finish.

Tap at Lost Abbey. Cloudy straw pour with okay foam. Yellow apple nose with plastic, pineapple. Apple taste with more chemical and medicinal qualities, somewhat sour and high bubbly carbonation. Somewhat refreshing and definitely light bodied. Too medicinal for me.

On draft at Ladyface. Hazy golden yellow pour with a white head and white lacing. Slight funk in the nose. Not finding much Brett character here (maybe more pronounced in bottles vs. draft?). Hoppy, bitter and dry finish.

Light orangey color. Aroma is sweet fruits, bread and slight hops. Sweet is predominant in taste with a combination of citrus. Hoppy taste in the end of the mouth but nothing great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 6.5%. Good citric and slightly funky aroma. Hazy golden colour. Big stable plasticky head. Good citric fruitiness in the flavour. Mild bitterness follows along with a little sweetness. Very refreshing.
